First one is Blood Covered Repeated Fear, aka that one on PSP. This 3DS port is pretty much the same, but with upgraded sprites and a few extra chapters. You can play either of them.
Then there's Book of Shadows on PSP. Pretty much a collection of what-if stories and some prequel stories. The last chapter is the prologue of the last game. It has some exploration sequences, but they're not that relevant or fun, so it's mostly a VN.
The last game is Blood Drive on Vita. The conclusion to the story. No 3DS/PSP/PC version. It's ok.
There are some spin-offs, like Hysteric Birthday 2U! but these are not translated (there's a manga version of 2U, though). There's also a PC version coming to Steam, and that's pretty much a remake of the very first 1996 Corpse Party, with different sprites from the PSP/3DS versions. I haven't played it, though.

Not much is known about that plot-wise, but it's a separate entry. While the ones I mentioned tell the story of a school, Dead Patient tells the story of a hospital. New characters, new setting, etc. Only one chapters has been released, though.
It is hinted it takes place years after Blood Drive, though.

The only good game XSEED localized is The Last Story, and that was only because NoA themselves didn't wan't to bother.
Brave Story was ok too, but nothing special.
Everything else has either been weeb pandering garbage or softcore porn of cartoon women. XSEED hasn't localized anything of value for almost 4 years.

This is closer to what gameplay is like is recent Ys games. It's more about dodging in and out of attacks than jumping around.
