>Not reading
I was always against reading as a child. It was much better to just play video games instead. A few years ago when I was in my early 20s I started to get into reading. Now I spend just as much time reading as I do playing vidya. It's a great hobby.

If you're lost, don't really know what to do in life, and between the ages of 16-21, I suggest the Alchemist
Alternatively, pick a movie you really liked, and read the book it's based on.
If it's not based on a book, then the movie is shit
>>334441265
How familiar are you with Bowie? I only ask because in my experience most people that cite Ziggy as their favorite haven't heard the bulk of his work. I'd recommend exploring more of his discography.

>>334441514
I just think it's a solid 10/10 album. There aren't any bad songs on it. Alternately there's Scary Monsters; I don't like his more experimental and industrial stuff like Tin Machine

I don't really read much, i'm entry level as fuck. I love Lord of the Flies

It was a fine book, but I dislikes the ending, which I guess makes it good
Also, my favorite movie, the Thing, isn't based on a book (I think)

I might recommend to you some Orwell, then? Orwell was all about commoner plebs being able to read his shit, so Animal Farm and 1984 can be enjoyed by fucking 4th graders.
>>334443106
You really need to expand your cinema, too, my man. How about you watch Yojimbo or Tsubaki Sanjuro, two of my favourite Kurosawa films?

>I like to think that entry level stuff tends to be the best
it's more like entry level stuff tends to be appreciable by the widest audiences.
The issue with putting entry level stuff on your charts is that is says nothing about your specific tastes. That's where hipsterism comes from, the idea that the deeper you go, the more niche stuff there is, and that you should be looking for the niche stuff that appeals to your niche interests in a way that mainstream fails to. Those things to a better job of informing others about yourself than samples from top of the pops, so to speak.
>>334444389
No bully. I don't watch films very often.
>>334444341
Bad phrasing on my part.
I was accusing him of being a faggot because he hates Face/Off.
No one who costanzaposts should call anyone a memer.
>>334444525
True. It's not to say I don't like deeper cuts, but the most widely acclaimed tend to be my favorites. I listen to prog rock bands significantly more obscure than Yes, for instance, but CTTE is far and away my favorite album.

lol i don't know why you too are so upset over what I like. I thought Fountainhead was great. I don't subscribe to Rand's philosophy on fucking life, I just thought the Fountainhead was a great book. The people who hate Ayn Rand are more annoying than the people who love her by a fucking mile.
Thanks for enjoying my other patrician tastes. :)
>>334445201
I based it on reading the fucking book.
It was garbage.
