I can't even play right now. I managed to get one match in after it said the server was having issues, and then it would not connect again despite rebooting several times and the screen saying it was online (and I have a excellent connection). From what I saw:
>Keeps resetting my default resolution from 2560 x 1440 to 1080p on reboot.
>Stutters despite being at 60 FPS (Playing on a 4790k and 980 Ti).
>Enemies warping around due to lag, and being able to hit people who are no longer there (Did that like twice).
>A bit slow.
>Some of the loadouts are way too overpowered.
Gonna try a few more times tonight then I am going to give up for now. Its not terrible, but damn for a open beta right before launch it is bugged out the ass. I hope this is running really old code.

For me id Software died when Romero left. Quake 2 being their last id Software game. Quake 3 was Carmack selling engine tech to the multiplayer scene. And Doom 3 was cool but it wasn't Doom. It felt like a survival horror game based off a movie.

As a Doom fan I'm actually pleasantly surprised with what they came up with. Granted it's been so long that my expectations were very low. Seems like the blended Quake 3 Arena back into Doom 3 except without all the lighting issues. Though I am disappointed with their choice in armor suits rather than Marines. And that's really the main problem. There needs to be more blood and screaming from characters when the get hit. As of right now they're completely unresponsive sponges. People forget that the original Doom games were based off Aliens characters. Also I disabled that annoying fucking announcer.
