PoDD's singleplayer is not a skill based game, but rather a luck based on, one where your offensive pressure does not matter, and you simply have to hope the AI decides to die.

Now, I could get into how the ai differs between the two games, but I won't.
What I will get into is player agency, the ability to determine what happens. In PoFV, the player has great control over the match, due to superior defensive options and a spell point system that isn't reliant on rng. PoDD puts a pretty hard cap on your options, and while level 2 and 3 spells exist, they're completely worthless without the defensive applications. (level 2s are actually detrimental to you as a player.)
In short, you can simply do more about a situation PoFV. PoDD, in giving you fewer options, especially defensively, leaves more up to chance, especially since the spell point system is completely reliant on bullets and fireballs spawning when and where you need them.

Nope, play as Aya or Medicine and you might be surprised to learn that the AI can actually, surprise, die early. The only time the AI in either game actually cheats is during PoFV extra, where you are actually given a timer to show how long you have left.
And no, I'm pretty sure PoDD does not use a suicide timer. I am 90% sure that the AI is just spastic as fuck.

I can't remember the specifics about why Aya's bullets confuse the AI, but I do remember that Medicine's slow-mo mist screws up the pathfinding, since it doesn't take into account the slow-mo mists when calculating a path to the nearest safe spot, which often means it can't get there on time and gets hit.

The AI in PoFV isn't invincible. It can be overcome with a good enough offenseunless you're playing as Mystia. And again, as you mentioned, the AI during story mode has an actual suicide timer on it (that, and the AI performs worse the more lives you waste on it.) PoDD doesn't have that.

Magic Team is actually better than Scarlet, mostly because Marisa carries the actual team, Master Spark and Malice Cannon are strong tho.

I would honestly argue that Alice actually makes the team worse overall.
If you don't want to use Malice Cannon, I honestly think that Solo Marisa is an easier shot to 1cc with than Team Magic.
