No fucking shit?

Why would I want to get burned again after 2 years of hype for the disappointment that was MGSV?
>>
>There's people on that /v/ that will buy Portable Ops 2
>>

It won't be afflicted with Kojima's autism.
>>
It can't be any worse than 5 now that mr "ah yes time to spend 90% of the budget on some tits&ass side character nobody likes" is out of the picture
>>
>>334427207
Peace Walker exists already.

And I liked PO, screw you.

>>334427289
No, but it would be afflicted by Konami's.
>>
Skeptical but not against it.

Kojima is a bit of a hack and Konami does have the funds to hire a good director. At the very least the gameplay will probably be good and that is what I care most about.

I have zero faith in Konami to put out a good product that said.
>>
>>334427207
Ghost babel and acid 2 are just as much "metal gear solid" as anything kojima ever did, and way more than abortions like 4, peace walker and V

lol

Two words: Tomokazu Fukushima

Those trailers...

You weren't there man, you couldn't understand.

Did you not get the memo,Konami quit anything that isn't pro soccer evolution or whatever it's called

You're actually proud that you'll eat up any shit as long as MGS6 is slapped on it

the man doesn't fucking exist anymore,he dropped off the face of the earth after mgs3, he was probably offed by the yakuza or something
>>
>>334427962
I heard he's still working with Konami, but he's not doing anything significant.

Damn shame, really.
>>
>>334427207
PO was better than everything Kojima did after 3 though, so yeah, I would buy PO 2
>>
>>334428116
Maybe Kojima pushed him out, there's a chance they might bring him back.
>>
>>334427802
I had no idea this guy existed. Funny that the series takes a nose dive when he leaves.

After doing some research it seems like he wrote the codec calls in 1-3 and also helped direct. If thats true then the man really is a genius.

The game was shit but if you think Quiet's the problem then you need to go back to Twitter and NeoGaf

She's an awful character that got too much screentime.

The only appropriate direction for mgs to go is to remake Metal Gear 1&2 as a single game where MG1 acts as the tanker mission/virtuous mission to MG2.

I'm not going to buy MGS6 because I'm not a big fan of pachinko.

Something this perfect can't possibly happen.

Really? I've never seen anything of the sort, the guy doesn't even have a wiki page or any recent anything on the web.
At this point the only way I'd get anything on him is to scroll through old forums.

Kojima could balanced out each other's shitter ideas.

Too fucking bad he retired to Alaska or some shit. He's never coming back.

I would actually buy a new Metal gear made with no Hideo.
Hideo is a hack that ruined MGSV.
I wouldn´t pre-order tho. Just buy off a sale.

He was the head writer on Ghost Babel which had a pretty decent storyline but you're probably right. I'd just be happy to know that the guy is still alive.

4 and Peacewalker are both miles better of the Acid games
>>
>>334429106
Mgs 2 is a great game, because Mgs 3 came along to be a standard unironic sequel. If Mgs 2 was the last one, then it would be a much different story.

>>
>>334428392

Quiet was a major fucking problem, and not because of her tits and ass hanging out, but because she was a giant fucking retard that had no impact on the plot and was a shitty fucking buddy to boot.

Her story is shit, her character is shit, her design is shit, her gameplay is shit, and so in conclusion, Quiet is shit.
>>
>>334429634
>>334429786
wait, but isn't kojima with sony too now?
>>

Nah, NeoKojiPro is independant but they have some kind of deal with Sony.

I don't know why Fukushima got sacked, but I think this would be a good opportunity for him.
>>
>>334429429
At the very least, it needs a reboot instead a sequel. The canon is overstuffed and needs an enema.

Could use some spin offs. I wouldn't mind seeing a Rising 2.

As well as a Psycho Mantis based game, where you play as Psycho Mantis running around as a KGB agent or with the FBI hunting down murderers and spies and shit, in a STALKER sort of atmosphere and environment.
>>
>>334430247
Even a reboot I feell like would be tiring. The characters and situations have been done to death.

If you star Snake, it just seems forced and it would be exhausting rediscovering him from scratch. If you star a new MC, having to go through the usual song and dance of finding the Metal Gear, prison, etc. etc. would also be tiring. Its been done too much and too much of the universe has been explored.

The only way I can see a reboot working is starring a completely new cast, under a new name, taking place in the same universe.

Take Metal Gear out of the name all together so it doesnt have to be related to Metal Gears. Maybe something still mech related, but every entry doesn't NEED to be. A fresh start without the requirements a usual Metal Gear game. Complete creative freedom involving an infiltration mission story.
>>

They don't have his role for MGA2, so maybe there's other stuff he worked on that we just don't know about.

>The only way I can see a reboot working is starring a completely new cast, under a new name, taking place in the same universe.
Maybe something PMC based in MGS4/MGSV's timeline that isn't about Diamond Dogs/any of the companies Solid dealt with in 4?

Personally I want to see some expansion upon the PMCs fighting eachother that MGO2 did.
>>
The way they pushed MGSV onto shelves before it was ready makes me think they were willing cut their losses and flee the game industry, Konami has no devs, It could be outsourced but what developer could be trusted and stay within budget? You'll probably just see mobile cash grab games pachinko machines and merchandise out the ass, no new games
>>
>>334430525
Spin-offs or FOX engine remakes are the only things I'd be alright with, although both probably won't happen because konami doesn't make video games anymore

It's a shame too, seeing how the FOX engine took years to make but only ended up getting used in two games
>>
After all the shit Konami has pulled in the last 3 years, I would approach MGS6 cautiously. Depending on if they pull the "We are going to have westerners develop it" and whether it will be a reboot or a continuation (Reboot would be good at this point, or at the very least a remake of MG and MG2 with FOX engine).
>>

Portable Ops still had Kojima's parental supervision and ultimate approval. The next Metal Gear would be more like a Snake's Revenge 2, which wouldn't be all that bad.

>>
>>334432440
But they aren't. There are no differences, you just buy them separately. Sure Ground Zeroes have better level design and lacks some gameplay features like knocking, but that doesnt make it a different "game"
>>
>>334432570
That's what happens when you sell the prologue segment of your game as a glorified $40 demo.
>>
>>334432509
What's that in the middle? A manga?

The kana reads "Konami Gamebook series"
>>
I can't believe there are people who think MGS will be any better with anyone else at the helm.

It's possible we'll end up with a fun game, but it'll lack any quintessential essence of "metal gear". Without any of Kojima's insane obsessions, at best it'll just be a by-the-numbers action stealth game with a basic conspiratorial story.
>>
>>334432289
>if they pull the "We are going to have westerners develop it"

Considering that MGS more or less shaped western game development, that wouldn't be too bad. Western games have way more in common with MGS than any other IP in the world.

I can do this all day, OP.
>>
>>334426813
Yeah, almost like Kojima's obsession with detail and insanity is what made the games.

MGS6, if Konami produces it, will be a lackluster release running on the zombified corpse of MGS5 put out by the lowest-bidding B-tier studio Konami deigns to hand the reigns to for one more cash grab.

Despite coming out years later, it will be a step back in every way, shape, and form.

...I fucking hope Kojima's working on "Zone of the Enders 3, but changed just enough not to get me sued".
>>
>>334433868
>...I fucking hope Kojima's working on "Zone of the Enders 3, but changed just enough not to get me sued".
Kojima barely had anything to do with the original ZOE games other than his studio made them. He had the same level of involvement with them as he did with Portable Ops.
>>
The story is done just leave it alone
>>
>>334426813
i'll pirate it lol
>>
>>334427025
But it wont be shit this time because of it.

The bar of MGSV is so low it would be hilariously easy for Konami to top.

Which I will be buying.
>>
>>334426813
That's some mighty assumption you have there.
>>
>>334434229
This, I love how people still think Kojima gives a shit about Zone of the Enders. His new shit is more likely to be Not-MG than Not-ZoE

That dude is the definition of "Yes Man". He doesn't have the balls to keep Kojima's weirdest ideas in check, and he actively adds to the shit heap with his own awful ideas.
