Except you can transfer those Pokemon. You trade with any Gen III game, then you transfer like you would any other Pokemon.
If you're just gonna emulate then the same could be said of any Gen III, IV or V game: Why play it if you won't be able to transfer to Gen VI.

Yeah, well, if you're gonna do that you can "transfer" Gen I Pokemon or pretty much any game's Pokemon too, including Colosseum/GoD. Just get the IVs and other data and recreate the Pokemon in whatever Gen you want.

Then I don't know why you even asked if there was a point to play those games. All of this just proves that you can transfer those Pokemon to Gen VI one way or another.
When it first came out, Colosseum's whole deal was that it was the only way to obtain some of those Gen II Pokemon other than using cheat devices, and that you could show them off because they'd get a unique ribbon once purified. GoD's point was that purified Pokemon get unique moves not available otherwise, and that back then it provided the only way to breed Heat Wave onto, I think it was Magcargo, and I believe there was another Egg Move involving Tyrogue.
These days the only unique thing you get are the GoD moves and the ribbons. Both games are good, though Colosseum is pretty short.
