Microsoft already were getting a stupidly good deal because they paid for the acquisition with offshore cash they couldn't bring into the US without it being taxed. The fact it's still going and has a second wind with VR and potentially new consoles by the end of the year is just gravy for them.

They won't ever do this. First, they make more money being on every platform and second, it puts other platform holders at the mercy of them because they dictate where Minecraft goes. If Sony suddenly turned around and said "We're not going to have Minecraft on our platforms any more because it's owned by our competition". They effectively kneecap themselves with the casual crowd.
