Stray Demon at the top of the tower. You need to kill him in order to get his soul, which the little guy sitting on the throne at firelink will turn into Havel's ring for you. Given you've already done that, there's not much left in that area except for a covenant (On the way to the Stray Demon) and any loot you missed.

I mean, you look around you and you see that there's no mountains and things anymore, but instead there's a tower colossus of a city called Lothric, which makes me think that the city was literally built using the entire mountains and walls of anor londo as the building material.

Yeah I've had a lot of issues with the online. Sometimes an area is covered in summon signs, sometimes there's zero. Putting down my sign in front of a boss maybe 30% of the summons are success. I've had cases where I can't pass the fog or the boss is thoroughly bugged out (the boss isn't moving at all, sometimes I can freely attack him, sometimes I can't hit him at all).
I was summoned into Wolnir and the whole arena stayed permanently dark. I didn't see the boss moving at all but I saw the summoner's hp go down. I've also had multiple cases where the game just suddenly says connection to Steam/online lost and tosses me back to the starting screen.

If you got the souls for it, go back to Firelink and buy the tower key from the handmaid. Go up to the tower, pick up the stuff from there, go back andsee Patches locking you out. You can then either do a bit of platforming or just homeward bone your ass out of there. Just got to Lothric Castle. Summoned for the Dancer because she kept wrecking my shit, really regret it though, I don't think I've summoned before in any game for the first defeat of a boss but she was stomping me even harder than Pontiff and Abyss Watchers did, and they gave me a lot of trouble, too.
About 35 hours in but I did a lot of multi-player stuff, got 30 points in Aldrich Faithfu, got 10 sunlight medals but haven't found where to turn them in yet. People I meet are all wearing shit I haven't seen before so I must have missed a lot of stuff, I'll have to do a second sweep of the game before making a new character or moving to NG+ (hopefully it's like DaS2 where you can choose when).

well, one thing that annoys me is how nothing about the surrounding area remotely looks the same. the area where dukes archives are supposed to be could be understood to be below what I assume to be lothric castle / high wall of lothric area. But the other side, where there used to be the undead burg, sens fortress and so forth, there is not just rubbles or something, there are just fucking mountains in exactly the same place where there used to be nothing higher than the arch trees! seems pretty retarded to me desu. I know this is supposed to be in the future but you ain't telling me fucking mountains grew into the place while anor londo castle stayed the same.
Currently unemployed, so I've put about 40 hours into the game since release. Started basic Knight build, shifted into Dex/Strength quality build. Beat my first playthrough, now I'm just Sunbroing to help other people through areas and generally collect things I've missed.
Being that I've only extensively played Bloodborne, I'm kind of frustrated that the only weapon I find even remotely usable is basic Long Swords. Two handers and larger weapons seem unholy difficult to actually land hits with, given how slow and clunky they are. I ended up just leveling up the Dark Sword to max, refining it, and it works great for B/B scaling for Str/Dex. It's carried me through the game.

Well it makes sense that you don't like fatty weapons if you've only played Bloodborne.
I'm completely the other way around tbqh. Given that I've played Souls far more than Bloodborne, I prefer using fatty strength based weapons and high endurance/low weight, because of poise breaking and high damage.

What the fuck is up with the cities in this world? They are so massive. They imply millions of people living in them. Yet there is fucking no one. From there there are MULTIPLES of these massive super cities fairly close to each other. One with a fairly big but smaller one right outside of its walls, Where is everyone? If the cities were built in different ages why didn't they use the infrastructure already in place? The majesty and opulence of these cities also implies great wealth and power and the schooling and infrastructure to raise great craftsmen to build and maintain. Where did this wealth come from? Again why not use what was already there?

When it was just one city the hand wave of "the world has fallen to decay" worked. But now with this time jumping and all these risen and fallen empires it just raises so many questions.
