Been playing for a couple weeks. Got botany and miner at 22, BSM/ARM/CRP at 21 - 23, LTW and GSM at 15, and I'm going to start Weaver tonight. Alchemist and culinarian are at 8, fishing at 6.
Got tired of several sets of crafting gear, so I'm going to try and synch the trades to withing a level or so of each other to avoid clutter.
The provision missions for my GC are really helping, since I don't have too much time during the week. I hop on, write down everything I need to turn in, craft up/gather, deliver for XP better than. I can get in a level quest, and seals on top of it.
Haven't crafted anything for alchemist or culinary, just spend a bit of gold and buy the items from the vendor to turn in.

Finished the main scenario today and I didn't even fight a single boss fight. While I was watching the cutscenes my group skipped forward so I missed everything. It was just a mess of incoherent cutscenes. Completely ruined it for me, I'm really disappointed because I liked the characters and all.
How could Square fix this? I know people are there for quick rewards so naturally they don't watch the long cutscenes but the way it is now doesn't work at all for new players.

If archers are stealing enmity you're likely under level 26. Archers get several abilities they can fire off the global cooldown at low levels so they can 'burst' real easy.
Don't you even worry that much about enmity until level 32/Brayflox. before that enemies won't even hit hard enough to bother most DPS if they grab 'em.
Cross classing flash can also help a bit at low levels. That takes MP instead of TP.

I'd say DRK has the highest skill floor but WAR has the highest skill cap. Picking up WAR is easy as hell and they probably have the highest margin of error but managing and optimizing at the high end takes a bit of effort. Interested in coming back to this game since I play up to level 15 a couple of months ago when I got free playtime
I spent a little time as an archer and lancer, plus dabbled in whatever the other classes are in that area.
Was wondering how well the game progresses when it comes to levelling up side jobs and if there are still guilds I could jump into to do the older endgame content?
Also is it worth getting the new xpac since Dark Knight and Machinist look pretty fun, or should I wait until I get to the end of base content?

Look guys, there's no way to preserve RDM mechanically. It just doesn't work under the game model, or any MMO model I can think of off the top of my head. If Square put them in as they've been, we'd have nothing but months of bitching about how bad they are because MMOs do not need an all-rounder build.
At best we're looking at them keeping the flavour and aesthetic while retooling the kit to something unique. RDM doesn't have to be a bad class, but we have to make compromises here.
