He doesn't have to survive for you to complete that mission. If you want to you can simply kill all those dudes in front of the boss' door at the beginning, hack the door open, go in and kill the boss, then exfiltrate and save yourself 30 minutes.

CO-op send help
EYE took hold of me. This is the only game I want to 100% and gain every achievement there is. I even set up auto-clicker on farm map to get those class achievements. Other than that, I played the game legitimately.
But I won't get just this one - Doctor Hyde.
I joined co-op game once and weren't able to kill anyone with a medkit. ;_; I'm suffering.
