ITT: Firearms you love seeing in or would love to see in a video game.
Pic related is a Beretta 950 or a Jetfire.
Can't think of anything it's appeared in, always imagined it would show up in a survival horror.
This fucking thing in RE3. Completing Mad Jackal and unlocking this monstrosity was a highlight of my youth. Fuck you RE4 onwards, let me have my overkill.

and also this made me realize that it was balanced because in a game where you have no "loadouts" and you have to find every gun, it doesnt matter how good a gun is because the level designer basically gets to balance it with the positioning and rarity of the weapons

I'm actually in a small-scale team at the moment trying to decide guns to include so I love these threads. They'd be smuggling in the plot so I want only the most exotic guns so I can get my gun fetish on.

Personal favourite at the moment is the flip shotgun from Terminator 2. Because who can look at that and not love it.

No promises. It's like earlier resident evil's / parasite eve / dino crisis'. Those types of games are notoriously hard to get right.
I always find the whole revolving rifle thing funny anyway, cos when you put the revolving part on any gun when that has a barrel you have to hold, you're likely to burn your hand from firing it. It's a fucking cool looking weapon though, so I'll take a good look into it.

You can look at a gun and appreciate the craftsmanship and there's the appeal of using for shooting competitions as a sport. Also, it's virtual and can't hurt you unless you let it.
Cars have tighter regulations on their sale and maintainability and cause a lot more deaths more year in the US then guns do.

Fun fact: the human sniper rifles in every halo game is an anti material rifle, which is why it's actually instantly lethal against elites and SPARTANs with their power armor (and by extension why guns with less powerful ammo does so little damage and the time to kill is so high, because MJOLNIR armor and elite combat harnesses are that tough.)
In later games you can use it as an anti vehicle weapon pretty well too.

Squad-based WWII operating. Pick 4 SAS soldiers and lead them through a bunch of missions. Large maps in various settings, you can plan squad actions or control them directly, you can use disguises. Second game uses the original Mafia engine.

Squad based "realistic" shooter set in WW2 with perma death, and missions in open maps, you can approach objectives from any angle or method. Go find a torrent of the second one, Delisle is one of the many weapons in the game you can use and it actually works like a fucking gun and not a chip damage weapon, it WILL kill things if you can hit them. Honestly surprised they never got a following like other games.
