It feels alot more like bloodborne, the way the animations are and the way they react when hit. I found the bosses fairly easy (besides pontiff sulyvahn fuck off you fucking retarded faggot fuck you fuck you fuck you) but the regular enemies are much harder, they can do some serious damage to you

It actually is, it gives you a ton of poise making you unstagerable and then you can do a heavy attack to smash them on the ground for a ton of damage, and it has really good tracking, so if they're rolling all around you you'll probably still hit them

If you infuse a weapon with a Heavy gem, it will make it scale off of STR instead of whatever it currently scales off of. I believe it makes STR weapons scale better.
Doesn't get rid of the potential dex/other requirement for wielding it effectively, but you really can just make any weapon a STR weapon with a bit of planning.

Absolutely. For example, if you have a DEX weapon that has E STR and C DEX scaling after you use the Heavy Gem it will go to B rank STR scaling just like it would if you used a Sharp Gem for DEX.

I have really liked the Partizan, it's a really flexible weapon for crowds, namely the Deacons.

Raw weapons are only good if you don't have points invested in the stat for the weapon.
So if you had neither of whatever the longsword scales off of, and were putting all your points into non damaging stats, raw is a good option since it's just base damage.
If you DO have whatever the weapon scales off of, don't ever get a Raw weapon. It provides a bit more base damage but the lack of any additional scaling damage is not at all worth it.

Honestly, I still haven't found anything I prefer over the estoc. Had to switch to whatever that really light curved greatsword's called for deacon, but I think I'm gonna stick with the estoc for a while. Really fast, doesn't cost too much stamina, good damage and the reach is fucking obnoxious. Might switch to a rapier since the weapon skill is a little useless, but it's not too bad considering thrusting swords have no kick.

Get any decent weapon you like or meet the stat requirements to. Infuse a Sharp Stone on it, get it to scale with Dex. Voila.
Pure Strength Build or pure Dex builds aren't cuck'd in Dark Souls 3 out of weapons. Just meet the minimum and you can infuse it to your specialty.
I already have a poison Uchigatana, Divine Mace, Fire Lucerne and more for funsies. Getting enough Titanite though is a real shit fest. I miss Dark Souls 2 in this regard. To add, it appears like mobs that do drop Titanite have a set limit to how much they drop, cause I can't get shit after a while.

That's mostly a meme but I will say that those tall ethereal creatures with the curved swords in Irithyll are pretty bullshit.
You have to dodge their 3-4 hit combo, and there's a ton of them in that area. I got through it but it didn't feel satisfying. Just annoying.

But, I don't do faith until NG+, personal preference. I just like to sword and board my first playthrough.

Its a pretty weak weapon but its fast and its Art is quickstep which is fucking great to use.
Using magic instead of stamina to dodge is fun.
