On the note of playing Rise From the Ashes again, I really hope AA6 at least drops a passing mention about her sister. It was weird how no other appearance ever mentioned she had a sister. Without AA1, it's like Lana never existed.

I think the deal is that creators really like Ema. Takeshi Yamazaki originally wanted to make Investigations games about her, but producer said that Edgeworth is more popular.
So, Ema in Investigations is probably just a reference of leftovers from original idea. At least it's a confirmation that Yamazaki has great taste.
Also, I want theoretical AAI3 to maybe dig into Edgeworth's past a little further, maybe even go as far as to the time when he was friends with Phoenix and Larry and explore their friendship and how much Edgeworth changed after Greg died. I feel like it thematically can be tied to Phoenix getting fired and AAI3 might explore Edgeworth's role during that. It was Phoenix at his lowest, I really doubt Edgeworth just shrugged it off and didn't talk about it with Phoenix or offered any help.

It'd make the whole "Phoenix is in charge of court reform even though he was disbarred for corruption" thing in AJ a lot more believable if they did that, atleast. DD's opening cutscene implied that Edgeworth's been helping him out for a while too.

An AAI3 taking place in several countries would be really cool. So many of AAI's cast travel overseas all the time anyway (Edgeworth, Franziska, Lang, Ema) and as you said Phoenix was overseas for a while too.
A Phoenix, kid Trucy and a less confident teenage Athena case overseas was what I was expecting to happen at some point in DD, felt weird to me that they mention how the Phoenix & Athena had met and then not shed any light on it.
