So I've been doing some chocobo racing.
I've bred my last bird with a rental and got a shitty chocobo out of it. I did a few races with it anyway for the MGP.
I used the same mother bird and another rental for another breeding and got one with much better stats.

Well you might have missed the launch but you still have the expansions where the game gets pretty hectic. We're on patch 3.2 right now, so the next expansion would be 4.0. Before that we have patches 3.3-3.5(Probably, if the last patch cycle was anything to stand on) each released at roughly a rate of 1 per 3-3.5 months. So we could see 4.0 sometime next year.

It was an example of some of the minor things I notice.
His biggest problem is that hes slow to heal and he really forces me out of clerics more than I'd like. I feel like he's either not muscle memoried all the aoes yet, or isn't really paying attention to when they are coming.
The CO thing is because he should be using it with LE, which he doesn't. Also spending CO on regens is a waste.
He also asks me to succor more, which is...a bad sign considering I'm only mitigating the first aoe when they come in sets.
Also I don't have to go run with them either, it was only that one time when they asked for a healer so I volunteered and noticed why their progression is so slow.
Another thing they could fix is their dps setup, they have 1 brd and 2 mch and the moment I asked why I got a ton of remarks about how those are the only classes they can bring, I'd really rather not hurt their feelings especially since they are just casual players.

Man A7S is kind of a letdown with how easy it is compared to A6S. There's hardly any dps checks at all (well, we have 7 weeks of gear at this point too) and the only gimmick is getting the jail/tether passing right.

You're correct about tanking, holding aggro is pretty easy if you understand your class.

It cannot be stressed enough how much you need provoke, especially considering you're having trouble grabbing adds, which is basically what it is for. That and Tank Swaps, which is an endgame mechanic you need to have down. The way it works isn't perfectly clear though.
It does not actually add any amount of enmity to your target, it only puts you at the top of the enmity stack, the person who was previously on top will still have tons of enmity and rip aggro right back off the moment they do anything. You HAVE to follow it up with something, preferably an enmity skill like tomahawk or you will immediately lose aggro again.
This also means don't pull with Provoke unless you really need to utilize the extra range it has, but those situations are rare

Any time you have 75% or less MP in a boss fight or after you get Gravity feel free to use Luminiferous Aether, there's no sense in saving it. With that you shouldn't have any mana issues. It depends on how they're moving. If something like 4 enemies spawn in different corners you could tomahawk 2 of them and by then the other two will probably be in a position that you could manage to hit them all with an overpower or Steel Cyclone

One thing to keep in mind is that newly spawned adds will generally make a B-Line to the healer, so you can anticipate them going to where your healer is standing.

They need to consolidate what Flash does into less GCDs. The fucking skill doesn't do damage. WARs get to spam Overpower, and they get damage + aggro for the big TP cost. DRKs get to spam Unleash/Abyssal, and they get damage + aggro for the big mana cost.
PLDs can spam Flash all day long and never kill anything; they literally cannot kill anything with Flash. How the devs can look at PLD, see the damage gap between it and WAR/DRK, and not fucking change Flash is a fucking phenomenon. Flash as it currently exists should be oGCD; and even then PLDs would stop touching it as soon as possible because it's the blandest, shitpile ability in the game.

I will say that PLD has a decent learning curve at 60; enough to make it fun in progression. You end up with enough oGCD shit to make it engaging; the Shield Swipe change really helped in that area. As well, tab cycling on PLD is about 1000x more demanding for AoE pulls than with DRK or WAR. Being very, very good at that is rewarding enough when the "look at my girth" DPS are shocked that they didn't pull the straggler mob off of you.
They really need to lower the CD on Shield Swipe to 3s, or just not have one. Popping Bulwark to see a million procs go to waste while it's on CD is soul breaking; and seeing a Sheltron proc go to waste is fucking awful too.

I use this all the time when I'm gathering mobs together for a big pull. You jump forward and throw your shield/ax/dark energy at shit directly behind you without losing any forward movement. With "auto face enemy when attacking" checked, you do this nifty turn around to attack shit while you keep moving forward.
