If poor reviews prove a videogame is bad, do poor reviews prove a film is bad? Or are games and films good or bad regardless of what professional critics think of them?

Are you fucking stupid or just ugly.

Generally film critics are not "the common people" they are from wealthy families and have no idea what the average person would like.

Game reviewers are exclusively paid by the people who make the games making the review completely worthless.

The only opinion that matters is your own. Reviews and the critics who write them are just a tool to see if you're willing to gamble your money on a piece of media and (it is always a gamble).

>exclusively
Don't use absolute statements like that's, because that means that if even a single "professional critic" sincere then you're statement is incorrect.

Poor pro reviews don't prove anything one way or another.

Positive pro reviews contrasted with negative normie reviews, almost always means a game is even worse shit than you suspected though.

But user reviews told me Fallout 4 was shit, and it really wasn't that bad. It was quite decent in fact.

Is there some "Fanboy Factor" where I split the difference or something?

That's where you re-read the post and notice there's an "almost" qualifier in there, implying there are sometimes exceptions.

Like when a franchise is so fucking hyped up that a 10 vs 0 war starts.

Videogame journalism/reviews =/= movie journalism/reviews
>>
Reviews aren't worth shit, I'm not going to enjoy a game or movie less because someone said it's bad.

Video game "journalists" are generally paid by the gaming industry and just about everything they say is completely worthless. And if you bring this up, someone will accuse you of sexism.

>Movie Reviews
You give a bad review? Chances are you're still going to get invited to future screenings. If not, you can buy a ticket at the Thursday sneak and spit out that review in time for Friday.

>Game Reviews
You give a bad review? Fuck you, we're not sending you any copies of any of our future games ahead of time. We're pulling all ads from your site too. Good luck beating that game and writing a review fast enough for people to give a damn about what your site has to say. We already took their money by the time you finish it. No one is going to visit your site to read it.

That's a good point, anon, and where the dilemma lies. It does take a certain amount of bravery to write a review where you call God Hand complete shit. We should respect that courage.

No, it doesn't take any bravery because it's Capcom. Capcom isn't a huge publisher like Namco, Sony or EA. They can't afford to make enemies with the press.

It's not bravery. They just know who they can piss off and who they can't.
