ITT: Enemies whose main threat is something other than damage
Malboro's most feared attack is bad breath which does a plethora of status effects like poison, slow/stop etc
Giant Clams from Dark Souls have an attack that will grab you and do damage to all the gear you have equipped.
Like Likes from LoZ will steal your shield and more equipment iirc

Mother brain in bloodborne. It sends you into a frenzy of madness just by looking at you.
There are a few other enemies that inflict frenzy but they also have physical attacks. Mother brain is almost pitiful when you kill her in her helplessness (after she gives you a rune no less!)
also from DaS1 the egg guys with the bugs inside of them can infect you with their bug egg things
