No replay value. Also, the puzzles were incredibly linear and had only one solution of "place portals here" with the gratuitous use of black panels to prevent "wrong" solutions. This is opposed to the first game where the rooms were almost entirely white and the dev team specifically left options for multiple solutions.

Because it was a running joke in the first game? GlaDos was trying to entice Chell with cake. The door in Portal 2 is a quick reference to that. Even ignoring the meme it works just fine, which is what matters.
