There have been plenty of fan campaigns, it's just been a while since one quite this big. I think last year there were two 4-mission campaigns made by single authors.

I know that one of the mappers prefers TG's movement physics and default textures. Aside from that, there's not a big difference between them. Most of the improvements T2 made were in the level design.

It's one of the most complete and polished fan campaigns but the individual missions aren't the best. Unfortunately the VA and cutscenes are pretty low quality but it's cool that it has them at all.

In a way it might be beneficial that the animations are so exaggerated, because it's important to be able to identify an enemy's status in a stealth game. But it does look goofy.
