Is it possible to beat Dark Souls before Dark Souls III comes out? I just defeated the gargoyles.
>>
Many people can beat it in a few hours. If you keep at it, even if you're not the best at it, you can beat it today.
>>
>>333821645
It's possible. You have 35 hours. Use summons to help you out to speed things up if you want the easy route.
>>
>>333821645
You can probably do it depending on how much free time you have.
An average playthrough can be maybe 30 hours and you've cleared the first few already.
>>
>>333821645
watch a speedrun
copy the route
ruin dark souls for yourself

>not enjoying the game to it fullest
>he just wants to finish it as fast as possible so he can talk with /v/ about DS3

You are the normietrash that destroyed this board
>>
Eh, if i were you, i wouldn't focus on finishing the game as fast as possible. Dark souls is a fantastic game, and you shouldn't just speed through because ds3 is coming.

If anything, play DS3 on release, then go back to DS1, make sure you play slowly. Your first playthrough can only happen once, enjoy it while you can.

Asking here to not spam the board with ds threads.

I never played as ds game, but ds3 seems interesting, but I love playing solo. Is multiplayer "required" in the game?
Are there any mp locked bosses (coop style or whatnot); locked weapons? Or is it just pure fuckery with each other?
>>
>>333822017
>play DS3 on release, then go back to DS1

Worst advice someone could give, after playing DaS3 going back to DaS1 will be a chore, like trying to play The Witcher 1 after beating The Witcher 3, it just doesn't work out.
>>
>>333822014
And you're the cynical cunt trash that keeps it destroyed instead of just being chill. I've played them all and i dont give a shit if OP butt-rushes the game to enjoy DS3 a bit more. Stop being an aspy.
>>
>>333821645

If you want to have an inferior experience and likely ruin the game for yourself, then yeah sure you can probably beat it in a little over a day if you rush through the game and/or look up guides.

Otherwise just play it normally and take as long as you need like a non-retard.
>>
not including the dlc, no
>>
>>333822125
MP is not mandatory and you can play it completely alone and get everything
>>
>>333822145
lol I trolled you dude ^^
>>
>>333822125
Multiplayer is definitely not required but it does add some neat features outside of PVP and Co-Op. Honestly, you're not missing anything too incredible by playing offline.

Cool, thx m8.

Never played DaS1 or DaS2 but for some reason I want to play DaS3, should I give it a try? Or is it absolute mandatory to play the other games first?

nintendogs is pretty fun, bro.

Online is for the most part entirely optional because all of the Souls games are single player at their core, with online features added on to enhance it.

The only things that are "locked" to multiplayer are covenant reward items, which you do use to get some faction-exclusive equipment or spells or whatever, but you can still farm certain NPC enemies offline for those faction items if you're really determined to get them and you really don't want to (or for some reason can't) play online.

Ebin m8, simply ebin.
>>
>>333822371

It's not mandatory but I would recommend to play the other games first, probably in sequential order. If you're really not liking one/any of the other games then you can skip them if you want, it's not a big deal to play them in order but I think it gives a better experience.

If you can get your hands on Demon's Souls I would even recommend starting there first, it sets a good foundation for the rest of the games because its pace and playstyle is a little different and if you ask me more friendly as an introductory game while still being pretty good.
>>
>>333822125
There are some weapons and equipment hidden behind covenant rewards. You can farm covenant items offline, sure, but it's gonna be long and annoying

but ds3<ds1

Well, and since this is now question thread...

Do I understand correctly, enemies drop souls, and you can use them either to level up, to buy stuff, or to buff your weapons? Is level up cost constant?
>>
>>333823480
I agree but DaS1 is the old game, controls in the series have only improved, hud elements also got a lot better, maybe if one day they eventually remaster DaS1 I'll give it another try, but until then I can't get back at that game.
>>
>>333823779
You got that right.
>Is level up cost constant?
No, every level costs more than the previous one
>>
>>333823779
>enemies drop souls
yes
use them either to level up
yes
>to buy stuff
yes
>buff your weapons
souls + titanite to upgrade weapons, temporary buffs are spells and consumables
>Is level up cost constant?
it increases with each level

takes about 6 or 7 hours if you know the game well enough but aren't quite at speedrunning faggot level

>takes about 6 or 7 hours if you know the game well enough

How can you know the game well enough if you have never played it before?
>>
>>333821645
Focus on INT and Sorceries. Soul Spear , Crystal Soul Spear , Homing Crystal Soulmass , dragoncrest ring and crown of dusk and the game is beat in hours. Papa Nito is literally 4-5 hits
>>
>>333824192
>>333824247
second guy has a point

First playthrough took me about 30 hours, that's just from start to killing final boss, haven't uncovered all the secret and optional shit in the game

Dark Souls 2 took me a little longer, around 50-ish hours
>>
>>333824036
Its part of the game and story in a lot of cases
>>
>>333821645
Who gives a fuck about DaS3, enjoy the better game OP
>>
>>333821645
I'm in the same boat as you, but I'm up to Blight Town(?). I saw some gameplay of DS3 and as someone who isn't too invested in the lore, it's more appealing visually (nicer animations, environmental detailing and no more resolution issue), has faster combat and I'll be able to join my friends in discussing it.

I know /v/ is going to get their panties up in a bunch over me playing a game which they feel you're meant to earn the right to play, but when everyone calls DS2 garbage, it's hard to find a reason to play my way up to 3. I'll continue playing DS1, because I'm still having fun with it, but I can't see myself buying DS2.
>>
>>333825335
Protip: don't listen to /v/, DaSII is actually a fun game.
>>
>>333825335

Dark Souls 2 is far from being garbage, and if you like Dark Souls 1 then it should be enjoyable.

It's not a flawless game, no doubt about that, but a lot of the exaggerated complaints are just meme hate.
>>
>>333825335
while it clearly isnt dark souls 1, dark souls 2 if far better then 98% of the game in the market, its only bad when played to its core and compared to dark souls1 .
>>
>>333825335
>but when everyone calls DS2 garbage, it's hard to find a reason to play my way up to 3

Congratulations on being a tool m8, now you just need an official goobergate badge.
