For those of you who have played GTA IV: what is the more moral choice to make in this situation?

I didn't pay attention and thought I had to shoot both so I just shot a random guy and tried to shoot the second one

Well according to Niko's moral compass you're supposed to kill the cop. This is exemplified by the fact that you need to kill him to get 100% in the game.

However, killing the druggy on a second play through is pretty fun since the cops ability removes like 4 stars with a phone call or some shit. You'll feel like a piece of shit that was used as a means to an end though.
>>
>>333813531
doesn't matter who you kill for 100%
>>
>>333813230
Can you just shoot them both?

Personally I shot the cop. I hate corrupt police.
*tips fedora*
>>
>>333813617
I wonder if they patched that.
It's been awhile but I could've sworn you had to kill the cop for 100%. Same with killing playboy. Neither matters according to the wiki though
>>

>This is exemplified by the fact that you need to kill him to get 100% in the game.

That's not true.

>there are people that killed Dwayne over Playboy X
>>
>>333814305
nigga don't even want to live anymore
i killed X because he was a major fuckboy but i can understand why you would kill Dwayne instead
>>
My first play through I actually killed Derrick. I fucking hate drug addicts. A lot more than corrupt cops.
>>
>>333814305

Is Dwayne really that much better than Playboy? Dwayne asks you to kill people for petty reasons as well. Yes, the reward for killing Playboy is way better, but morally, is it that much better of an option?

I guess, but he still sounded pissed when he finds out you backstabbed him

>doesn't even bother fighting back and just accepts it
>>
>>333814545
Loyalty? It might be down to personal preference.

X left him in the dust and completely abandoned the man who taught him the ways of the street and was pretty much the reason why X got to where he was now.

But still, both men are killers and thieves so it's really a choice of the lesser evil, whoever you think it might be.
>>
>>333813230
>expecting us to do your homework
>>
>have choice of who to shoot
>jewish guy starts walking near them
>mission failed
>>
>>333814594

Yeah that shit was hard to watch. When you go into his apartment, he has that one flunky goon with a baseball bat. And then Dwayne just stands there ready to die. And then you call Playboy, who tells you that you are a soulless killer. Its like the game did everything to make you feel like shit.
>>
>>333813230
you do whatever you think niko would do. put yourself in his shoes and be the character, i know this is hard for your generation, but give it a try.
>>
You don't have any interaction with the drunk besides getting money while you can get your wanted level lowered up to 3 with the Cop.

It's morally ambiguous, one's a drunk criminal the others is a Dirty Cop.
>>
>>333814305
that mission is so heavily in favor of killing playboy because you get his rooftop flat and dwayne's friend bonus is worthless.
>>
>>333814545
Playboy is a scumbag for the fact he stole his friends gang from under him while he was in prison and then gave him the cold shoulder, on top of trying to get you to kill him off to tie up lose ends.
>>
>there are people who chose the deal with Dimitri
>there are people that actually decided to work with the man who backstabbed you, destroyed your home, business and even kidnapped your family
>there are people that let Roman die
>>
>>333813230
I just kept calling the both of them for more money because I'm a scumbag mercenary
>>
>>333815264

Deal is arguably the more moral option, and it's what the game encourages you to do. It comes right after the mission with Darko, where Niko learns that revenge won't satisfy him at all. The Deal ending is also much more satisfying and climactic.
>>
>>333814990
Wasn't he a drug addict?
>>
>>333815461
i didn't thought of it as revenge
Dimitri would probably keep harassing Niko and his family making life impossible
>>
>>333815461
Darko wasn't an issue anymore. However, Dimitri was still out there in the city, making life for you and Roman a living hell. He had to be taken out.
>>
>>333815264

I like the game in general but anyone else think the ending fucking sucks?

Meeting Darko is the real climax, everything after feels like an afterthought. Also, the cutscene where Kate/Roman dies is shitty and rushed as fuck, as is the final cutscene on the island. It seriously felt like they ran out of time.

Yeah, it did feel a bit tacked on. Nothing came close to that scene again.

>You killed all my friends for 1000 dollars!?
>How much do you charge to kill?
>You ruined me, YOU FUCK!
>>
>>333816053
yes i thought the ending sucked too
i rather believe that the game ended after you've dealt with Darko
>>
>more moral choice
you're killing someone, where is the morality in that?

>kill X because you get Y
thats not morality thats getting something out of it.

I shot Derrick because he is sub human Irish scum
>>
>>333817320

I think it has more to do with justification.

As a career criminal/hitman, it's just a business transaction. You have to detach your morals and feelings out of the equation. Your employer pays you X to do Y. The game rewards you simply to progress the story and allows you to measure your success in-game.

In the real world, assassinating a fed puts you in every cross hair of every cop until you die.
Pic related, how to be a good career criminal.
