Everyone used to talk about this game and how great it was. They couldn't stop asking for a sequel.
Then it happened.
Nobody talks about this franchise anymore. I mean nobody.
What went wrong?
I still like it, but I never played the sequel.
They got greedy and went for the f2p model then doubled down by making it a 60$ game with season passes

All my normie friends who played 2 says it sucked because you needed to pay up for some stupid shit that you got for free in the first game.

Pretty obvious. They changed it from a self-contained game to a bunch of f2p nonsense.

It allows you to pay for consumable buffs, (so literal pay 2 win) but the first time I tried it, they were completely unnecessary. I tried it again a year or so on, and it felt like they made the game significantly harder to 'entice' people to buy their shit. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if I just got dumber.

No no, you're right. I don't know if "harder" is the correct word to use but they certainly made the game more of a pain in the ass to play in an effort to promote sales in the cash shop.

I've been playing Heroes though and it's a lot of fun. Comparable to Hearthstone, but can't see it ever getting as big. Currently no crafting or deck limits that I found which is odd but we'll see where it goes.

EA bought PopCap.
