Also, back in the day, there were lots of metal soundtracks. The SNES had a worse sound card than the Genesis, so I remember the Genesis versions having some of the better music of the time. But I had a SNES, so I remember more of those. Sega, with it's edgy marketing, was all too happy to capitalize on that good sound and use some guitar-like sounds. And that was pretty fucking cool.

I actually live 20 minutes from double fine and one of the bars I sometimes have to go to for art installations is right across the street from them.
