Every NES, SNES, Genesis and N64 game can fit on one 2GB flash drive along with their emulators.

This isn't a product for you, it's for people who are dedicated to getting a like new experience with their NES games. For 99.9999 percent of people the Wii Virtual Console+ emulators are just fine.

Who the fuck wants to pay $500 for a NES clone?
>>
>>333738185
This.

There is literally no reason to own a NES or SNES beyond MUH COLLEKSHUN.
>>
>>333738375
N64 emulation is pretty spotty, though. I can understand wanting one of those.
>>
>>333740397
Can we still run Paper Mario on emulators properly?
To be honest the best way to play these games is to own the original system + a flashcart.
>>
>>333740597
Never ever.

There's some technical reason why N64 emulation sucks balls and probably always will, but I don't remember it.
>>
>>333738185
>>333740285
There's still no circuit-accurate emulation. Also there's known emulator lag from emus like Bsnes, which Byuu admitted himself.
>>
>>333740169
I would, because I'm a true gamer and support developers who allow me to have fun
>>
>>333740850

The N64 is an undocumented clusterfuck.
There.
>>
>>333741506
Since we're talking console emulation, how the fuck did the PSP get a lot of traction in the emulation scene? went from meh to 99% playable overnight.
>>
>buying $2000 headphones
>>
>>333741831

Because the only attempt at a PSP emulator before was some java clusterfuck, the PSP is rich in documentation thanks to its homebrew scene, and the CPU is a fairly simple MIPS processor.

>Every NES, SNES, Genesis and N64 game can fit on one 2GB flash
except they can't.

You could probably try squeezing every NA nes/snes/genesis rom on a 2gb storage, but even that would probably exceed 2 gb.

The NA N64 roms alone need at least a 8 gb storage.
>>
>>333738097
Because "muh collectors" (hoarders) will waste money on it instead of just emulating games on a high-resolution monitor.

OH WOW, GOOD THING 128 GB+ THUMB DRIVES HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS NOW FOR CHEAP.
>>
>>333743717
NTSC Snes library is ~1.5 gb
>>
>>333738375
Try 70GB
>>
>>333743717

The NES romset (GoodNES 3.14) weighs in at 237MB.
Genesis romset (GoodGen 3.00) is 695MB.
SNES romset (GoodSNES 2.04) is 1.7GB.
And the N64 romset is 5.35GB.

You'd just need 4GB for the NES/SNES/Genesis romset, then 8GB for that and the N64 roms.
>>
What exactly is it? Why not just get a regular NES for $10 and learn to swap NES carts?
>>
>>333743906
Most flashcarts only have SD storage. 128gb sd cards can go from anywhere between 60-110 dollars.

>>333743929
>>333744526
you could still trim down the size though by deleting the early non-revision roms and beta roms.
>>
>>333741506
That, and Yamauchi had a bunch of silly little behaviors added because a system that was harder to develop for would weed out bad developers.

>>333740850
Back in the day, the lead dev for one leading N64 emultator was insane, throwing drama bitchfits every other day and rejecting help for stupid reasons.
>>
>>333744737
It probably has an in-built framemeister or something to that effect.
>>
>>333738097
>not getting the Retron 5
>>
>>333738375
That's retarded because the target market for this product most likely already own an NES, which they could just hook up to a Framemeister that cost roughly $200 less and could use it with all of their other retro game consoles.
>>
>compatible with HDTVs
>supports zapper
How do those both work at the same time?

>Original hardware!
So what happens when the unremovable pin slot connector gets dirty/stops working?
>>
>>333746930
Is there anything like this but instead only plays roms?

There should be consoles like this that have every nes or whatever retro game on it. Like what they did with those plug in play games
>>
>>333747196
Those little plug and play games are just running through cheap emulator software.

You could do that with a raspberry pi (there's premade solutions out there.)

Another alternative is to get an NES ROM cart that supports sd cards, if you wanted to run on real hardware or an upscaler with real hardware like OPs.

If an emulator is fine, there may be a retron style clone that has USB support.

Because Microsoft threw a wrench into the development of any system emulator that had their games on it.
>>
>>333746930

>How do those both work at the same time?
Well you can plug a composite connector in a HDTV.
>>
>>333739302
beat me to it

>only 10
>pat and ian estimate around 6-7 being sold

Nigger. All 10 will sell. And will never be played. Add another thing to everyone's shelves they brag about that never gets played/touched.
>>
>>333748782
I thought the issue was due to some other lightgun problems, but I was wrong.

With the zapper the issue may be entirely latency-based. So if your HDTV has less than 1 frame of delay, the zapper should work.

So...higher-end Sony's. Or monitors.
>>
>>333748782
HDTV introduce image input lag, so frame-precise timing of zapper logic fails.
>>
>>333749909

No HDTV has less than a frame of delay. Only CRTs are so instant.
