Nintendo could have sprung for a smaller process node and clocked the Wii U's CPU higher. They could have added more cores. They were targeting something a bit more powerful than a 360 within a certain TDP, and that's what they got with Wii U. If they had been willing to make a larger box that drew more power, their tweener system could have had a bit more legs.
