The gameplay of the games are mediocre, but they've got strong and interesting worlds with a lot of effort put into making the worlds more immersive, such as the game's literally making a computer desktop once you actually start playing the game, with you being able to surf the internet and check emails in between playing the in-game MMO itself. The stories are interesting too.
Its just the gameplay itself that's weak, because you only have one melee attack and otherwise the only gameplay is running away from an enemy waiting for a magic bar to fill up while attacking when you can using magic attacks while giving orders to your party members.

Even if it was a disappointment (originally I was hoping it was a 3DS game before I realized the sad truth of it being an iOS game), its really sad how short a lifespan Little Tail Story had. Even as a phone game it failed horribly. Least it got neat music:

In all honesty, I felt that Majula was a surprisingly cozy little settlement after you get tons of people to show up there. Even among all of the hopeless, fearful dregs fucking around outside of the world, most people there are pretty pleasant overall.

And honestly, the view is gorgeous, the buildings are definitely livable, and beyond those undead pigs chilling behind the manor, there is clearly no actual threat to living there. If there was some food and drink, I could just relax there alld ay.

Los Angeles in VTMB, the Santa Monica haven might be a shithole but it's extremely comfy since there's no creepy music(like the music in the Downtown haven) and you can hear the rain and thunder outside.

That's kinda how Majula is. A very atmospheric song that in and of itself describes a location that's a haven for people who have completely given up on progressing, and found themselves simply waiting for the inevitable, and comfort each other and themselves with general kindness. The song is very suiting.Especially with the sound of the waves in the background.

Only in MML1 though. MML2 they spread all over the globe, so the quality of the towns are shit. Barely a houses or two with a handful of npcs are called "Towns". It was jarring as fuck for me.

You've finally described in words why I've never liked MML2 but couldn't figure out for myself. It's a shame, because it's super cool that it's one of the earliest examples of a game with true dual analog controls and with one of the control schemes you never even have to move your thumb to the face buttons and can use the shoulder buttons to do just about everything while your thumbs always rest on the sticks, it controls so amazingly well for a game from 2000 and better than just about any game that came after it, but it's so so boring compared to the original.
