Better than the R9 390X NITRO?
3.5gb
>>333668318
enough?
>>333667559
>Better than the R9 390
No
>>333667559
gigobyte money grabbing real hard
which brain dead ass buy 970 in current year
>>333667559
yes
>>333667559
No.
Gigabyte's quality and reliability is nowhere near Sapphire
and the 390 is mildly superior to the 970 overall
maybe majorly superior if you count the whole not defective thing, and the scandals and stuff, you know
>actually considering a 970
Should I skip the 390, get a 980ti and then a 1440p monitor?
>>333667559
Why would you ever consider it?
>>333669885
Wait a few months for new cards
>>333667559
Better drivers and overall support. More solid brand (ati has had a spotty past)
my 560 gave out yesterday. Was looking at the r3 390 turbo but my mom is on her second rma for a sapphire brand r9 in 2 months.
EVGA never let me down so far.
>>333669564
Nice edit
>>333669953
Nope. Don't care enough for the pascal meme.
>>333669457
>the whole not defective thing, and the scandals and stuff,
This is why I got the evga 970... and here today suddenly everyone wants to shit on it...
/v shit consensus dosnt top my 10 years of pc certs..
>>333670059
You'll regret buying a 900 series card when Nvidia gimps them for the Pascal release
>>333669885
Thats a pretty big price gap between the 390 and the 980ti
>>333667559
>>333669956
This is a troll thread, right?
>>333670156
Just dont update your drivers....
>>333670125
>suddenly
Were you living under a rock for the past 18 months?
>>333670267
Most assuredly.Whiskey and cigars later?
>>333670267
nope. My new baby should be here tomorrow
>>333670354
No. But I also dont update everything until I know what it does. So the previous "gimping" drivers dont concern me.
>>333670225
I make pretty good dosh so I decided I might as well go for it. Can just get a pascal later if I want.
>>333670604
>he watches LinusShillTips
Why the fuck would you come to /v/ for opinions on graphics cards?
You know people will just post EPICLY edited benchmarks right?
>>333670659
I dont make that good a dosh... But after seeing 960s go for 260 and 270 i figured i'd fork out the extra 50 and get the 970.
I wont consider ati.. I had a one on my first pc build and that thing was loud and shit out after 6 months... and the other post shows my mom isnt enjoying hers to much either...
EVGA never let me down..
>>333670659
Making pretty good dosh doesn't mean you should needlessly waste.
There's Pascal coming in June/JUly, wait a month after that to see if they have memory leaks and how they perform.
Soon after that is polaris.
I'm hoping the 1070 turns out good as I'm overclocking my processor and wouldn't want to chance too power hungry of a card.
>>333672480
>too power hungry of a card.
>Nvidia Flagship model.
There is a 10% chance that it wont be a power hog. Between cooling and the obscene amount of RAM they'll most likely have its almost a done deal.
>>333670315
Maxwell relies too much on drivers, you actually need to update
I was sent a brand new 380x from my rma. Should I sell it and get a 970?
>>333670604
Is it harder to shill when you can't use benchmarks less than 11 months old?
>>333673268
No, wouldn't be worth the trouble or money
>>333672879
My main contention with getting a 390 Sapphire Nitro was the TDP. I have a corsair 750rmx, i5 4690k I got to 4.2ghz as a test. A 750ti because I was given one and kept waiting for something I liked to come out.
4GB cards are small as fuck now
8gb is the new 4gb
>>333667559
Well, the reason the 970 is getting beaten now is because AMD cards have hardware made for Dx12. No matter how much you overclock the 970, it won't beat the 390 in Dx12.
>>333673750
970 really doesn't support dx12? kek
how long before 980s get massive price cut due to pascal coming out?
>>333673750
>AMD cards have hardware made for Dx12
Not really, AMD is missing a lot of DX12 features.
I wonder how will Just Cause 3 DX12 renderer turn out as it was developed in cooperation with Intel and it is supposed to have a lot of features unsupported by AMD.
I find myself running out of VRAM on my 3gb card from 2012
>>333674167
Grid 2 only had highly detailed smoke as Intel specific feature. Intel loves highly detailed smoke effects.
>>333674680
check my build senpai
just ordered
gtx 970
i5 6600k
other stuff
>>333674167
DX12 feels like such a meme. DX11 did as well at first, and so did DX10.
I'm not even worried about DX12 until 3-4 years from now when it has regular support.
