If you're thinking about buying it from Steam, I'm not entirely sure you should. I had a problem where the game just wouldn't boot up for me at all. I had to enter a code they gave me on the Bioware or Origin store and then had to redownload the game from Origin in order to play it. It's not a 100% issue, because I've had friends who can play it from Steam just fine, but it never worked for me. Pirate it or something.

Did Hamburger Hepler really write the Noble Dwarf quest line? The Dwarves were badass Traditionalist extremists. I can believe that she wrote the shitty ass Brood Mother poem, but I can't believe that she actually wrote something as awesome as the Dwarven culture. In the Noble Dwarf Origin you can force a scholar (who wrote most of the books that you read in the game.) to give you tons of cash in exchange for saving his life, or you could even have your slave kill him in your stead. You could execute a dude who tries to bribe you with a knife. You could play the entire Dwarf Noble blood line as a tyrannical autocrat, but even then Bhelen still kills more innocents than you ever could.
On top of that, Bhelen actually improves the overall quality of Dwarven life, despite the fact he's a tyrannical piece of shit.

Pleb. Beth's game always play like crappy action games that weren't good enough to be released as action games. Biowhore didn't jump along on that trend until Ass Effect 2, which was ok, but every other action game they made after that was either shit or still just ok like Inquisition. Inquisition has much better overworlds than Skyrim. Not that it matters because both games suck and are not at all the direction that Crpgs should strive toward.
Origins at least felt like a hybrid of NWN map & combat design & Baldur's gate party/squads, characterization, and more involved story. Better than NWN, but still not as good BG2.
