Very nice. Halo 1 is about second place for my favorite Halo game.
I didn't get a proper console until the PS2 came out (had a gameboy). Will most likely explain my lack of older games.

I might've enjoyed Morrowind more if I modded it, but vanilla I just found the hyper-simple gameplay and repetitive infinitely respawning enemy deal a chore.
Not to mention that once you get a skill past 30 you never miss or fail.
Diablo 2 bored me to tears. The gameplay just wasn't complex or demanding enough for a gameplay-oriented title.
Not that Vice City was exactly killer in gameplay, but the dialogue was more than enough for me to like it.

I have tried Marathon but I prefer Halo a lot more for its lore, music, and setting. Gameplay is slower but I was never really into shooters until I started playing CE so I didn't really have much to compare it to at the time.

Man I have no idea how people keep praising the original Jak and Daxter.
I don't know what really turned me off it - the utter lack of character progression, the later levels just falling to bits like they were slapped together in Unity, the MASSIVE spaces provided despite them being so fucking empty, or maybe that your reward for getting all the precursor orbs was a fucking door opening animation.
Everything about it was bad. The characters were bad, the pacing was bad, the decision to replace loading screens with massive fucking corridors filled with nothing was bad.
We know you're just disguising the loading. And your day/night cycle really wasn't that impressive.

Killer 7 usually gets notes for being "so whacky/random", but damn if the gameplay isn't just legit good. On-rails exploration somehow actually worked.
Of course precise aiming with a gamepad is not so fun.
