Is this a muh immersion kind of complaint? In the first game I never ran out of ammo for any weapon I had. On the second one I ran out of ammo once. Neither game does ammo well in any capacity.

The premise is basically a rehash of the first game with slight alterations, but the quality of the dialogue is higher. There is more depth to the characters, and there is more nuance to how the various themes are treated. The voice acting actually being good helps a lot, as well.
Beyond that, in spite of the levels being smaller due to the limitations of the Xbox, they are designed more intelligently. HUB areas have a larger variety of quest lines for the player to follow if they choose to do so, and the player's choice of augmentations and weapon upgrades affect their options more meaningfully. It does have a serious problem with how many resources it gives the player, from multitools to ammo and augmentation canisters being abundant, but combat is more enjoyable from a mechanical standpoint anyway.
All that said, the first game has GOAT music and a better sense of adventure, which goes a long way. Both games are great, but certainly focus on different aspects. The worst part about Invisible War, though, is that it became obsolete because Human Revolution is just better in every way, including the memes that you guys love so much.
