Stinger is actually kind of shitty because of knock back. You just end up stinging until the enemy reaches a wall.

Better to dash with trickster and then attack.

DMC1 has the best Stinger. That fucking "Ah!" Dante does coupled with the feeling of impact and sound effect. Feels like you hit the enemies with a freight train. No other Stinger compares.

That and the world actually shakes. Yeah, the other games have it, and even Bayonetta has it that the earth actually rumbles when you stinger, but in DMC1 it actually made it look like it had impact! In DMC1 it was like Volcano was irrupting and the rest it was like the ground just farted... really silently.

Disagree the DMC3 DT Stinger into Million Carats, yes I know it's not the same but it carries over, with its distorted

is the most satisfying feeling especially when the last thrust kills.
I was not one of those kids who leaned while steering, but in this case I usually find myself compelled to thrust my shoulder forwards with Dante to drive the kill home.
Especially when used to beat Vergil as he staggers.

Hell, I meant stab. Also the stab animations feel too swift in DMC4 to really have impact. They're less puncturing forcefully and more just poking. A lot of stuff was made more smooth and it was an improvement, but they shouldn't have touched that particular animation.

It's probably the loss of the shockwaves with each thrust. Just doesn't make it feel like you're giving them the business. Plus when you locked a crowd or charging enemy into the million stab and watch them writhe and the style meter soar before the final thrust sends them flying back? Mucho bueno.
