I've been playing through Colosseum recently. Holy shit everything is so slow.
>no run option and default walk is a brisk jog at best
>4 pokemon broght out at the begining of every battle each with their own little animation
>every battle is a trainer so you can't run
>every attack has a scene for the attack, the scene for the mon being hit, another if it procs status, and another if it feints, none of which can be skipped
>text scroll is pitiful and every trainer has 3 monologues

Don't remember my team for Colosseum. I know I stuck with Umbreon and Espeon for all of Colosseum, but I don't remember who else.
But Gale of Darkness was a different story entirely. Didn't need a team. Just used the Teddiursa you get at the beginning and Jolteon. Teddiursa learns Return really early, or maybe even starts with it, and not even half way into the game it can one shot everything. Jolteon was there because Jolteon is one of my favorite Pokemon.
I really hate this meme, but I really love Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. Double battles are way more interesting than single battles. My only real complaint is that animations take forever.
