SMB3 has better physics, better powerups, overworld, difficulty, and overall world design.

I prefer SMB3 but still find myself replaying SMW world, probably because you can save. I really need to get the GBA port of SMB3 for that reason, but I heard it's shit.

The Racoon suit isnt' even in NSMBU. It actually has an actual balanced flight powerup unlike the Cape or Racoon/Tanooki.

NSMBU sucks. The first NSMB was a nice little game that was refreshing since it was a brand new 2D Mario and NSMBW had its merit being based on the simultaneous multiplayer being new, but every NSMB game since has just been rehashing.

3 is better overall, but World had a lot of interesting level design and secrets. 3 has more classics in soundtrack, but I really enjoyed the World soundtrack and how it changed when riding Yoshi. I also think World manages to feel a lot more lively and natural than 3 as well.

It's subjective of course, but I think 3 manages to look better visually . World didn't really push the SNES to it's limits, replaying it a lot of the areas look somewhat ms paint-ish and flat.

Mario 64 doesn't feel great now. It did remarkably well on camera and controls for being one of the first major 3d games, but it is not one of the games that hold up from that generation. The castle is mostly empty, the soundtrack and environments have a sort of eerie/lonely quality, and something just feels off about it in general. The ds remake was a little more robust with the character selection increased, but it still is one of the worst main Mario titles as far as I'm concerned.

No, that's bullshit. I was willing to lower my standards so fucking much for a new SMB and it was still garbage.

I was so excited playing the first stage with the enemies hopping to the new Koji Kondo track. Then the soundtrack quality plummeted, the trash physics became obvious, the subpar level design began to show, the lack of variety set in, and the difficulty became near nonexistant. I've played fucking fangames better than NSMB.

I own the game. I even collected all the star coins, hoping to unlock some kind of actually worthwhile content. A Star Road/Special World equivalent, maybe. It wasn't fun. I wanted very badly for it to be fun, but it wasn't.

I think the only actually taxing part was that Mini Mario coin in the little pipe in World 8, and that was due to the controls and long walk to get there as Mini Mario rather than the level design. I don't even know what the Game Over screen looks like.
