All that means is that it will work on a 4K television without looking like shit, and if it can play movies it will be able to play them in 4K so long as your TV is capable of displaying it. It doesn't mean the system will be able to render videogames at 4K resolution.

Nintendo is weaker as far as hardware is concerned compared to Sony/Microsoft.
Both Sony and Microsoft have needed lots of different hardware made for many reasons. Nintendo is only their consoles, which are made for cartoony games anyways.
If Nintendo made a 4k capable device with PS4 level graphics, it would cost a small fortune. Even worse if they included a second screen gimmick.
4K + Screen on controller would be a nightmare to render.
Even the strongest consumer PCs probably couldn't render 4K HL2 if it also had to output to a second display.

PS4 sold pretty good, so retailers will order bigger amount of stock so they can produce bigger bulks which results in lower prices, on the other hand the wii u didnt even sell through its first shipment and retailers will be wary to order stock for the next console.
Assuming the PS4k also shares the same OS/firmware and somehardware parts(e.g same ram but simply more or same psu) with the PS4 it it will also get those parts for a lower price compared to what nintendo would have to pay for the same hardware parts, because production lines are already built and optimized.
