Let's talk about how the Brotherhood is also a piece of shit. Bethesda tried to make them like the original BoS again but fucked up in the worst ways. I mean why the fuck would the Brotherhood destroy the Institute, there's literally no reason to do that since they already had it under their control, and could have just salvaged all of their tech to further advance themselves. And also some of their orders are just plain retarded like when they send you to kill Virgil, even if he's cured you need to pass a speech check or else the idiot captain won't believe you even though it made more sense then to ask you for proof as in "bring him here if that's true".

I think the worst case of storytelling in Fallout 4 was the battle with Kellog.
Its a staple of the series to allow non-violent confrontations-the fact that you are forced to fight him not even one-on-one but with his army of missle launcher wielding Synths in the tightest corridor in the game really pissed me off when I first played.
Eventually I just quicksaved before meeting him and shot him as he was walking up to me in his special snowflake animation.

Its unclear when he became director, but if sure it was much later. Also gen 3 synths are just barely viable, if he had released nate/ nora prior and pissed off the board he could have lost his position as director and fucked everything up.
they didnt unfreeze nate/let him live because nate is a soldier. the last thing they want in their future is more war and violence and they could easily see nate as a threat to that especially should he raise a child with similar values that could then spread through new generations in the institute

Yeah, i sort of don't like it when character's backstory/motivation comes after their death (it's pretty much an eulogy). I suppose it's more realistic, but still. I'll admit that I did like how his backstory paralleled with the MC's a bit, but then it's like so what?
Also while i'm ranting, i hate it when games make you the leader of something but then have you do nothing with it.
