XCX is probably the only game that deserves to be on a better system.
Yeah, for me, with my limited tolerance for jrpgs, it remains my favorite for pretty much every aspect. Music, visuals, gameplay, story, and length were all 8-10/10 for me.

I rather prefer the open ended "plot holes" because many of the sidequests cover some deep philosophical questions, very few games ever address. The story pacing is shit, but the premise and direction is a rather interesting topic.
XC on the other hand was too compact and simple for my liking.

The problem with Xenoblade Chronicles is you have an open world, miriads of side quest but no reasons to do them, and most are fetch anyway
The plot is straightforward, so you have to really break the immersion in order to explore and do sidequests
