So I just upgraded my old toaster PC to a more powerful gaming rig. What are some decent games that I could use to test the capabilities? Something cheap but graphically demanding.

None. As a long time PC gamer thete's nothing out there graphically speaking that stands out particularily from consoles. Maybe star citizen?

Witcher 3 looks kinda better on PC. It's just a real gamble with most AAA multiplats, since most of them are just poor ports of console titles. On paper, multiplats should play better on PC, but in practice that's rarely the case these days.
