The 3DS' parralax screen is basically two screens overlayed on top of each other
combine that with the lower touchscreen, the 3DS is rendering 3 screens all at once
This eats up a lot of the processing power
The 3DS is a much more capable platform than many perceive it to be
Games like ironFall and RE: Revelations are on par if not better looking than some Vita titles
