I am 100% okay with this if its a new character. They seem to be keeping his defining features, like the red markings and scars but those are easily explainable by battles or warrior tattoos. Kratos from Greece washing ashore in Scandinavia/Northern Europe and killing Norse gods for no reason would be retarded.
I also don't know how they will explain it, Norse gods aren't huge dicks and fuck with humans for fun constantly. Even Loki helps humans in alot of tales.
