who brought what? if you are old enough you will remember the DRM of the old days were much more intrusive and malicious than even Denuvo.

all it means is that consumers should continue resisting DRM on their legitimately purchased products and devs should realize piracy is not theft and more importantly they can't treat their target audience and potential thieves.
>>
>>333480820
Their target audience is teens and college students. They ARE potential thieves.

>>
>>333481184
Absolutely. Abso-fucking-lutely. In public places people should be fully in public. The only things that should be prevented is stalking (following) and unwanted physical contact.

This. Unless it's actively problematic for the consumer (like always-online in offline games etc.), it's perfectly fine to have uncrackable DRM.

I don't even care. new games aren't even worth pirating. I have no interest in anything denuvo is attatched to. I have so much free time over when I'm not forcing myself to play new games that inevitably are shit, only to scratch an itch.

Maybe I don't like games, or maybe the games are bad. I don't know.

Most games are bad and have always been bad. If you look what's been praised as latest and greatest in history, the true unforgettable epic blockbusters by big-name companies, you'll see that 99% of it was immediately forgotten and rightfully so (perhaps you've already done that).

The best way out is not playing newest games unless they're from a director or team you have reasons to respect. Instead, play mostly time-tested stuff, of which there are dozens upon dozens and nobody has played it all. If you've played most great SNES games, you might have missed on the great DOS games or the great PCE exclusives etc. etc.

Just accept it: stopping pirates don't boost sales.
>>
>>333481795
The very essence of Denuvo operates by constantly writing and reading data (decrypting and re-encrypting) at a rapid pace.
>>
I used to pirate games all the time as a but honestly i feel as you grow older you just stop caring. It's like you have less time to play games so you just don't buy as many and savour the ones you do buy.
The only people I know past their mid 20s who still pirate games are all on the dole as well.
>>
>>333482415
I seriously think denuvo will even significantly lower sales. Word of mouth is a pretty important marketing tool, especially these days with social media. Imagine thousands upon thousands of slavs talking about your game to others. Of course companies using denuvo will never admit this.

Piracy does make sure you cannot just sell any and all utter trash - because people will learn to pirate first and check the quality of the garbage available.

This is why PC ports are delayed, piracy itself doesnt really hurt sales, but when your game is a pile of shit - it does kill it.

That leaves

Far Cry Primal - Ubisoft game with bad performance and bugs... What a surprise.

Dragon Age Inquisition - It doesn't run that bad and all problems on the PC version are also in the console version which doesn't even have Denuvo.

JUST Cause 3 - Shitty port, also has bad performance on console.

Hitman - shitty port performance has improved with patches.

Anno 2055 - Another Ubisoft game, say no more.

Batman AK - A shitty outsources port.

Out of the 8 games that use Denuvo have performance issues and several which are just shitty ports.

They do it a lot here because its very-very easy compared to other places.
They do it on the other big sites too but its a lot more work to set up the fake accounts, make them a history, etc

Here, you just post DENUVO in OP, call pirates a bad namek, and a thread like this ensues, no accounts, no history, no hassle viral marketing.
>>
>>333484064

The aim is basically just to make the average consumer think that piracy is over and head on over to buy the next DENUVO-friendly title straight away without thinking because, you know, piracy is over, might aswell just buy everything Day 1 like those people on consoles.

It was confirmed by a dev. He said that if you change too much your coponents Denuvo would not recognize your computer as the one from the first activation and won't let you play. You'll then have to ask for a new key to the dev.
So if the Dev was bankrupted in the meantime or they're too dumb to produce a new key, you just lost your game

Victim blaming.

This is nobody's fault but Sony's.
>>
I wouldn't really care that much if I was a pirate but because I'm a honest costumer I care very much. Too many times copy protection on disks has fucked me over in the past even though I bought the game legit from the developers. Piratefags spit on the faces of developers and costumers. Unless you are super poor, you have no excuse and should be gased.

dragon age inquisition has denuvo and it has mods, mgs5 doesn't have mods cause no one made mod tools

Do you ever read what you write?

S-s-so this is the power of DRM
>>
>>333494743
Doesn't matter if you still don't buy it. You no longer get to play it for free.

The logic behind DRM is that it makes people buy it instead of pirating it.
>>
>>333494979
That's not the logic at all

You don't key lock on a lamborghini because you are trying to convince people who don't buy lamborghinis to buy it instead
>>
>>333495915
Lamborghini is not a digital product.
>>
>>333497114
What difference does that make? Just because it is digital doesn't mean you should be able to get it for free.
>>
>>333497292
The problem with these games is not that they are commercial. (We see nothing wrong with that.) It is not that the developers sell copies; that's not wrong either. The problem is that the games contain software that is not free (free in the sense of freedom, of course).
>>
>>333497292
Makes all the difference. A digital copy don't cause deficits to the original owner. Me getting away with a lamborghini is a millionare dollar damage.
As far as "shoulds" and "shouldn't" is concerned, offcourse both are illegal. But thinking in pure capital terms, you're basically investing money to fight against something that don't cause damage to you. In fact, in the age that we live, more people that know your product, no matter how, the better.
HBO is a great example of this. GOT is one of the most pirated series, but they don't fight it, because it actually spreads the word around and make people more interested in it, boosting their subscriber numbers.
>>
>>333498058
Holy shit, non of that matters. You are not entitled to get things for free.

It is about time you fags got a wake up call and realized that if you want something you have to pay for it.
>>
always the biggest faggots in these denuvo threads. capping for these companies.
>>
>>333480461

I guess you want every nigger to get away with their random crimes?
>>
>>333498695
Wrong. All of that matters.
Because fighting piracy costs money. It's an investment. And if the return is simply a moral high ground, then it's a bad investment.
>>
>>333498907
You keep telling yourself that kiddo. You are the reason Denuvo exists, enjoy not being able to pirate games anymore.
>>
>>333498975
You clearly need some 10 years to mature your brain and understand the issue at hand. Please refrain from discussing it until then.
>>
>>333499143
There are no issues apart from your desperate attempt to justify piracy.

Look at where your piracy has gotten you. It has lead to stricter DRM and Denuvo, no is to blame for this other than you

No, you shouldn't be allowed to pirate games. Pirates for a long time have had it far to easy being able to pirate every game with ease.
Now that you can't you are coming out with all kinds of bullshit, simple fact is you are not entitled to get things for free.

Time for you to mature and learn that if you want something you have to pay for it.
>>
>>333499489
There is no defense at hand. That's just how it works. You mistake for thinking i have something at stake here. I'm just discussing how piracy affects the digital industry with you.
People pirated movies through VHS. Music through mp3 and cassette recorders. Games since CD's were invented and even cartridges had bootleg versions.
So you ask me to look around. Sure, let's look around. All 3 became billionaire industry. Game became one of the biggest industries in the whole world.
All of those industries fought piracy when the digital world became a thing. But time is a valuable teacher and they learned to not only live but profit from it.
But please, keep on that superficial level thinking this is about ethics, morals or legislation.

It's not like I'll buy denuvo games anyway.
Most shit I enjoyed playing past couple of years was indie anyway.
