The excitement for this game would have been crazy if everyone was waiting to play it first on the same day, instead japs, importers, and xboners all got to play it 3 weeks early and detail everything about the game to the point where I don't really care and I'm just going to wait until all the DLC is out to buy it.

So Gaem comes out and gets 9, it's great.
Then Gaem 2 comes out, it's 8, but still gets 9 because Gaem was great.
Then Gaem 3 comes out, for 9, but gets 8 because Gaem 2 was really 8.

There isn't more replay value to DS2 compared to DS1. There's probably even less, since after the first run in DS1 you know routes and shit, letting you play the game differently than the first time.

DS2 is like a and X, where you start at the middle, and have to run to each end, while DS1 is like a couple of 8's, where everything fits together like a REAL WORLD. In DS2 two areas actually overlap eachother. This never happened in DS1, because the map design was absolutely beautifully done.

You're sort of right, but DS2 was a fall from start to finish. It is a shame how DS1 was rushed at the end, though.

The developer of DS1 did act as a sort of consult when designing DS2, so there's no surprise there are features he liked in DS2 that he also put in DS3.
I haven't personally played DS3 or seen anything of it, but just because one game invents something, doesn't mean the next can't perfect them.

Keyword: was. It has since been balanced. It's viable, even decent in PvP thanks to spell mixups and varied spells, which 3 sadly lacks.

For which you'll need lots and lots of ATT, and to heavily invest into INT. If you want them to do damage, you have to use staff of wisdom, which cuts down on your cast speed.
Given the amount of bosses that have long range lunge attacks in DaS2, I find it rather balanced.
Honestly, I was putting that other guy on. I do like the game a whole lot.
I just wish they had had more time instead of having to deal with scrambled assets.

Magic isn't even viable in the DLCs, faglord. You literally do 25~50% damage to everything with magic. It's so bad that it's objectively better to fucking RESPEC to 40/40 Qual if you're a magefag and want to do the DLC.
