She's just kind of Ragna's companion and fights alongside him to protect Noel. It's the nice simple payoff to her character that was set up in CS and completely fucked up in CP, so now they're finally making it right.

The point of being a yandere is to be a psychopath with a completely warped mind and obsession with someone, the better the reason argument makes no sense, it makes more sense for their obsession to be completely out of control. Yuno had no problem slitting a girls throat just because she talked to Yukki, she also would have killed his mom if she stepped in her way. Also cuter? Nu is in armor, Yuno just walks around in either casual clothes or skimpy outfits while wielding an axe, just way more convincing I suppose in her character. Future diary didn't have a terrible story, was it weak, yeah you got me there, but it definitely wasn't trash.

A yandere is literally a psychopath though. The obsession is justified in her case because she had lost all hope in her life, her parents starved her, death was her only outcome in the future, Yukki gave her a different path. Somehow it's like nobody caught that part of the story, before the games even began Yuno was going to hit a "dead end." Yukki gave her a reason to live and overcome for a better tomorrow.

Yeah, you must have missed the part where she was trying to get him to believe her so that he would muster the courage to kill her. There's a thing people do where they try to make you believe them. Had you known that she was already in love with him the game before, you know the first survival game that she won, they were both in love. Third world Yukki also broke through just to be with him, she also couldn't come to kill him in the end, hence why she tried to lock him away. She had no problem killing anyone else, she tried to kill him because there had to be a winner, the whole time she wanted him to kill her.
