So this... is the power... of pc gaming...
>>
I know this is gonna turn out to a consolewar shit-thread but what the fuck am I looking at?
>>
>>333438567
Its the CPU related performance in a specific area in DS3. Basically even with a 6 core processor at 4.2GHz you can barely maintain 60fps.

At least it seems to run fine GPU-wise.
>>
It also means that getting a truly consistent 60 FPS is much harder: throughout most of the game, it requires 4 cores at high-end desktop CPU speeds, and in a few areas it might prove impossible on any standard system. Overclocking a brand new i7-6700K may help bump up your minimum framerate in the game's most CPU-bound areas, but likely won't guarantee a locked 60 FPS.

This saddens me. Whatever is going on technically in the console side is really hampering performance when it comes to PC ports this gen.
>>
>>333438076
At what resolution did they test that? Because if it's 5120x2880 I don't see what's the big deal.
>>
>>333438567
dude who made gedosato and dsfix talking about the game. over all the game runs decent but some some late game areas run like trash regardless of platform.
>>
>>333439293

1080 and he said framerate is dependant on resolution. So if you have a 970 but run the game at 1440 you wont get 60fps. Shit sux.
>>
The character creator has massive frame drops on Xbone, can't imagine that the game is well optimised on any platform.
>>
>>333439293
>All measurements are taken with maximum settings, but at lower resolution to eliminate potential GPU limitations and measure only the impact of CPU performance.
>>
>consolefats trying to prove a point with a few fps drops in a few areas which will probably be optimized in updates pretty quickly

lmfao
>>
>>333439667
>1080 and he said framerate is dependant on resolution. So if you have a 970 but run the game at 1440 you wont get 60fps
He didn't say that. He said the graphic/performance scaling is fucked, and going from 1080p to 1440p (a 33% increase) requires an increase of more than 60% of the performance of your PC to run at the same FPS measurement.
>>
>>333440424
>33% increase
Actually its 77% if you go by pixel number instead of vertical resolution.
>>
>>333440424

Isn't that what I said. Recommended is 970 for 1080 at 60.

If I'm reading this right my i5 [email protected] should be good with settings on medium on the CPU side right?
>>
>>333439340
so like 90% of games released these days there's probably some bugged effect causing FPS drops that will get patched in a couple weeks?
>>
>>333440882
Probably yes for most of the game. The few shitty parts will still run like shit in most PCs.

Actually never mind, I'm horrified to think what FROM can do with DX12.

With some tweaking I might get stable ~40 fps
Take that, consolecucks

From the article you linked.

>PS4 runs game pushed to the limit at 1080p struggling to hit 30

>Logically you would need a PC at least twice as powerful as PS4 to run that same settings double the frames

>Then increasing graphical settings to a maximum, requiring a yet still better PC

>Expecint your 760 and 750Ti to 1080p 60fps the game

That's not how it works, chucklefucks.

980 here. I was smart and bought a card that could make sure that any 30fps PS4 heavy graphics titles still run 60 for me.

Also, i74770k was clearly not a mistake.

I'll be enjoying my 60fps 1400p and you can't stop me.

Or maybe they just can't justify good pc ports because they aren't profitable. Why do you always have to blame consoles? During launch you mustards were going on about how the new architecture would make pc ports even simpler. Were you raped by a console as a child?

The superior DX12 performance on AMD cards is the point he is making, though it wont be widely adopted for years, so it's pretty much irrelevant.

>>333447901
Stupid. Just stupid.

They've been running games like MGSV which ran on PS4 at rock solid 60 anyway and go WOW AMAZING PORT when it's easy fuck to run shit like that.

It's game that struggle to hit 30 on PS4 that are going to require a meaty PC to also not just be at 30. It's logical. You need 2x> power to get 2x performance.
>>
>>333448105
There is no medium you retard. PS4 is all "high".

>>333448138

You can get PS4-level performance(maybe even better) with a fucking 750Ti.

kek, I never get tired of watching mustards realize their autism boxes aren't as powerful as they think they are
>>
>>333438942
So another rehash has shitty optimization as usual.

What else is new? There's games that run amazing on a toaster and games that run like utter horse shit on the ps4 with it's power.

Bad games are bad games no matter the system.

>>
>>333448337
I fucking said that. PS4 level performance is easy to get.

If you want 2x PS4, you need 2x PS4.

2x a 750Ti is basically a 980, which is very clear from the benches.

You'll be fine, especially at 900p.

I'll be aiming for that with a 6300 (4.1ghz) & a 260x. So I MIGHT get a 30+ avg if I'm lucky
>>
>>333448560
>2x a 750Ti is basically a 980,
HAHAHAHA no.
It's a 970, and that's stretching it already, as a 970 can get double the performance AND have higher settings than a PS4.

>Joke API
>won't be widespread for 6 years

>Fastest adoption rate of any DX ever.

It already has at least 4 exclusive titles coming out this year, several publishers, including SE, commuted to DX12, they're trying things out with HITMAN and RotTR, next DX will have a DX12 render, there is a tweet saying FFXV won't get High Level API on PC.
Only publisher who decided to wait it out on DX12 is UbiSoft.

So you keep telling yourself that. But don't worry Maxwell with HBM, err, sorry, Pascal is going to be great. Preorder now.

No it doesn't. It's locked at 16:9 ratios only with letterboxing, that's the opposite of arbitrary resolution support.
