No, the great one that is dreaming the dream is lucid dreaming
You are an imaginary person in the dream and realizing that (and not disappearing) gives you CHIM.

It's more ritualistic then brutal. They cut off his face, legs and genitals so he could be reborn as a person of any race, class and gender. Why did they want him to return after what they did to him, I still don't get.
>>
>>333375830
Somebody theorized that it is a ritual setting up the return of Nerevar as the Nerevarine.

Cutting off the face so N can be anyone
Cutting off the feet so N can walk any way they choose

"It's nice never being dead, too. When I die in the world of time, then I'm completely asleep. I'm very much aware that all I have to do is choose to wake. And I'm alive again. Many times I have very deliberately tried to wait patiently, a very long, long time before choosing to wake up. And no matter how long it feels like I wait, it always appears, when I wake up, that no time has passed at all. That is the god place. The place out of time, where everything is always happening, all at once."

Yes and no. The tribunal (then first council) murdered Never and possibly Voryn Dagoth. Vivec achieved CHIM at some point then "went back"* and made it so that they didn't and Nerevar instead succumbed to wounds inflicted on him by Dagoth. Basically a dragonbreak.

*you don't really achieve CHIM and then have it from that point forward. Because of how you can influence past events, you pretty much "always" had it.

The default classes have multiple armor and weapons for skills, which is wasted skills because you want to focus on one each.

You can't go wrong with your major skills as Armorer, Long Blade, Block, Heavy Armor, Athletics, primary attributes Strength and Endurance, minor skills Security, Mercantile, Speechcraft, Alteration, Mysticism. Minor skills are all there for convenience, majors are the ones you want to focus on, some min maxing people will tell you to keep athletics out of major but you don't need so many skills to play a basic warrior and movement speed is always nice.

Race, pick Redguard, Orc, Nord for the easiest time.

Pretty sure the Soul Cairn exists to host the souls captured by soul gems - something something ideal masters. It might change a bit of the poster's explaination of how and where souls can exist, but it hardly affects Dagoth Ur's situation.

From a thread a few days ago

>First of all Vehk wants to get punished for what he did to Nerevar, and he absolutely did kill him together with rest of Almsivi because If the appropriate word from each book is taken (i.e.: the first word from book 1, the sixty-eighth from book 2, the three hundred and sixty-fourth from book 36, etc.) and assemble them according to Sermon 36, a secret message is revealed
>He was not born a god. His destiny did not lead him to this crime. He chose this path of his own free will. He stole the godhood and murdered the Hortator. Vivec wrote this.
>But again through the narrative of sermons long before he even kills him you can understand that he knows that he will have to kill him an he is teaching him/will teach him secrets of Aurbis.
Nerevarine "killing" Vivec is an important mythopoetic and Enantiomorphic event that in many ways is good and right for Vivec.

As long as you know how to properly misinterpret it does a fine job. Don't listen to /v/ when it comes to these things, Lorkhan's plans are much more than that and Kagrenac wasn't petty enough to use Numidium out of spite.
>>
>>333377561
How? The Soul Cairn only deals with Soul Gems and the Ideal Masters. They don't interact naturally with the world.

>>333377407
>Don't know why people listen to Vivec.

>I'm not familiar with the new stuff
Soul Cairn was around since Battlespire. It is not something new and doesn't discredit it at all.

The point in the image is the contradiction of how ur's soul works, the how dreaming/awake/mundus/dreamsleeve etc point
But as we learn with the soul cairn, that;s not how the soul works.
Just because the soul is not on nirn doesnt make it sleeping, a point where was in battlespire but most ignored because >battlespire >canon
So sleepers aren't an issue, they're just beyond the power of necromancy and soultrapping for creation
Ur is still super weird in his existence, but dreaming from the sleeve is now more a matter of his connection to the heart, not because of his sleeping or waking state.

I apologize if I misunderstood something here but it's kind of hard to parse what you say.

So if I have it right:

You think that the existence of the Soul Cairn disproves that souls not existing in Mundus are sleeping.

And that this makes Sleepers (you're referring to those people who sleepwalk in Morrowind and talk to you about Dagoth Ur) unable to be to risen from the dead (they're alive?) and unable to be soultrapped.

What I still don't understand is how this relates to the Soul Cairn. We already know when regular people die, their souls end up recycled in the dreamsleeve or if they had particular beliefs or affinities, end up in their respective Aedric or Daedric realms.

As I understand, the only souls that end up in the Soul Cairn are the ones distinctly offered or traded to the Ideal Masters for power in Black Soul Gems.

So what I'm trying to figure out is, how exactly does the Soul Cairn prove that Dagoth Ur isn't reverse dreaming from the Dreamsleeve?

No, the idea that sleeping means your soul goes to the sleeve is inherently bullshit
Which we learn from soul cairn not being constantly filled but used for nonused souls
>unable to be to risen from the dead (they're alive?) and unable to be soultrapped.
It means they aren't using a soul, so technically yeah no soultrapping
>What I still don't understand is how this relates to the Soul Cairn
It means dagoth ur isn't using any souls to make his sleepers, its' just reverse necromancy
So they aren't even sleepers anymore
>how exactly does the Soul Cairn prove that Dagoth Ur isn't reverse dreaming from the Dreamsleeve?
Because it means his soul is somewhere, whether it be sleeve or mundus I don't really care

most people were too focused on WE PRESIDENT NOW to realize that Obama wasn't much more liberal than clinton. Not to mention, he quickly realized that trying to appoint a fresh cabinet was a waste of time and political capital and ended up retaining all of the bush people who managed to stay out of scandals and appointed popular, obvious neoliberal choices (clinton, kerry, gates). Inevitably, their advice shones through in his doctrine.

Ok I finally understand you. Thank you for clarifying. I always thought it was odd that people thought that souls actually go to the dreamsleeve while people are dreaming, but it isn't so more apt to say that they're connected to it when they're asleep?

>It means dagoth ur isn't using any souls to make his sleepers, its' just reverse necromancy

Awesome, thank you for being patient with me.

So I just read what you linked, however, I think I still disagree with what you think the Soul Cairn is for. So let me put my theory out there and let me know what you think:

As far as I can tell, (supported by what you linked) the Ideal Masters are Merethic mages who ascended into a spiritual form and then crafted their own realm in Oblivion. I think we both agree on this, right?

I don't think however, that that is where souls go to be cleansed, I think they think what they're providing is a shelter from the constant cycle of reincarnation the average mortal goes through by letting them exist as pure souls in the Soul Cairn. I think that's why they call themselves Ideal Masters. In the real world, the Gods and the rules of Mundus are your masters, and other than conferring your soul to Daedric Princes or even achieving Amaranth (nearly impossible), you cannot free yourself from the wheel. So they offer a sort of haven

What's funny is that you think the cure for failing liberal policy is to be even more liberal. Because trying the same thing and expecting a different result every time is the definition of sanity, amirite?

Like the socialists that insist that socialism only failed because it wasn't forcibly imposed worldwide, so there were still places people could go to escape from it.

False haven, yes
The cairn existed before the masters, given that it is not their realm, trapped souls end up there, and the masters didn't always exist
It's just a place trapped souls end up
So the masters can either keep the soul "free", or let it go
We can assume the trapped souls didn't create a backup in the flow of souls, like little nicky but in reverse, because that would have caused a whole lot of other issues.
So why would it be JUST trapped souls, and what happened to those souls before the masters
So we assume it's just part of the soul path, and assume all souls go on it because how does the soul leave the cairn, it just follows the path the others took.
But the cairn needed to have some kind of use before the masters came to it
So we assume it was used to clean

>The cairn existed before the masters

This is where you and i disagree

"They entered Oblivion as immortals, selected an area of chaotic creatia, and crafted it into a pocket realm ideal for their purposes as soul merchants. They dubbed this pocket the Soul Cairn and, pleased with themselves, adopted the name Ideal Masters as a title."

As far as what I think the soul path is, I don't think anyone fully understands it, but my theory is that the soul is made of two parts: identity (memory) and animus (the magick spark). I think animus portion is drawn by the aedra and daedra, and the animus portion itself is what is recycled.

Vivec knew he fucked up, that's why he helped the Nerevarine defeat Dagoth Ur despite knowing that it would also bring and end to his divinity (as derived from the heart of Lorkhan).

Another fun fact about Vivec is this:

He fashioned his actual spear Muatra out of a chunk of Molag Bal's penis which he had bitten off during a literal dick measuring contest between the two.
>>
>>333372886
It's arguable whether he's actually obtained CHIM, some think he's just juiced up on Lorkhan's heart.

They're "merchants", they did not create the place where the souls go to, they just built around it
Like How you don't build a damn by creating an area of water then the damn, you find the water then create the damn
They found a place where souls go, they didn't dictate that souls go there to begin with.
They couldn't pick any part of oblivion, but it had to be a part where it was ideal for their purposes

All these niggers spreading false TES lore.

Chim is what the stars are made of, pure (euphoric) mana leaking from the aedric realm (Aedras are le epic supergods).

Attaining enough Chimeroni gives you godlike powahs.

>"What is wrong with me?" Barenziah lamented. "Look, not one of my skirts fit? What's become of my waist? Am I getting fat?" Barenziah regarded her thin arms and legs and her undeniably thickened waist in the mirror with displeasure.
>Drelliane shrugged. "You appear to be with child, young as you are. Constant pairing with a human has brought you early to fertility. I see no choice but for you to speak with him about it. You are in his power. It would be best, I think, for you to go directly to Mournhold if he will agree, and bear the child there."

>"What sort of test?"
>"Ah," Therris said. "Payment first, sweet thing." He put an arm around her, leaned over and kissed her, thrusting his tongue deep into her mouth and his free hand into her shirt.
>"Nice," he said presently, withdrawing his tongue, but not his hand. His other hand slid down inside her waistband and fondled her buttocks.
>"Let's go upstairs. We can use my room," Barenziah felt both embarassed and excited by his boldness.
>Therris grinned insolently. "Why bother? You want me, don't you? I'll bet you'd pay me, wouldn't you?"
>"No," Barenziah said. She did want him, but not that badly.
>"No? Well, a bargain's a bargain and Therris keeps his word. But here. Now." He hiked her skirt up and pulled her onto his lap so she sat astride, facing him. He opened her shirt and pulled it down on her shoulders so that her breasts were exposed.
>"Nice pair, kid." She was facing the wall but she could feel the stares of the other patrons. A hush had fallen over the place. Even the bard had stilled. She felt both nausea and a hot burning desire. Her hands released his turgid penis and then it was inside her and she was screaming in both pain and ecstasy. Then everything went black.

>"No," Barenziah said thoughtfully. Actually the idea was not entirely unappealing. She was sure that she could earn a modest living by sleeping with the soldiers for money. She'd had a few adventures of that sort as they crossed Skyrim, when she'd dressed as a woman and slipped away from Straw. She'd only been looking for a bit of variety. Straw was sweet but dull. She'd been startled, but pleased when the men she picked up offered her money afterwards.
