What would happen if you had a deck that was nothing but pot of greeds and the five pieces of exodia? I know nothing about yugioh but that sounds like a pretty OP strategy if the pot of greed has no cost.

You can only have three of one card. And Pot of Greed is banned- it's basically the singular best card in the entire game. Essentially no deck in Yugioh would not benefit from running 3 copies.
