Digital games can have more data than discs. That's a given.
But what if we make thicker discs that burn off the top layer when you're done with it. This would reveal another layer of more game and then it can keep going.

This issue isn't storage, retard. The issue is transferring information.

It's just faster and easier to read off of a harddrive than it is to scan a disc with a laser first.

We already have discs that can hold over 1,400 terabytes of information.

Yeah, what he said
>>
>>333323483
sounds like a single use or limited number of use disc.

If you want the game to have continuity you'd have to copy a large amount of information between discs, textures, characters, game code etc.

This is why ff7 had a large amount of the same shit on all 3 of its discs

Maybe you'd be better off with cartridges, memory is still pretty cheep
consider the info available on a thumb drive, assuming accessing that data quickly is not an issue or that a cartridge would have faster read rates.

Actually, we should make discs that are made of diamond. Since diamond is stronger than plastic more data can be stored on it, leading to more games.
>>
>>333323483
You talking about dual layered discs bra?
>>
>>333323483
If you would just buy a bluray drive for your PC this wouldn't be an issue since no game but GTA5 is bigger than 50 gigs

No make games shaped like onions.
they have a lot of layers to contain all your graphics
>>
>>333325196
And make each layer also shaped like an onion for infinite games!
>>
>>333324864
Yep, I don't know why they don't use diamond seeing as how it's the strongest metal on earth

This, but why don't we just make it a sphere?
Just a giant sphere that is also see-through so the laser can see through it and access the infinite amount of data layers.
I think onions would smell too bad and maybe Sherk wouldn't like it.

Obvouisly too strongg

Where's that pic when you need it.

Of that thread where people were talking of cylinder disks, square disks and all other sorts of crazy shit.
