Samurai case is literally where it gets good, though I won't fault anyone for thinking case 1-1 and 1-2 are boring. They are boring. But it gets better after those cases.

The only other series I can think of that relies heavily on character dialogue is Metal Gear, and it certainly worked for that.
Every game throws the cast up in the air, takes out certain ones, introduces new ones. The series (mostly, anyway) has an arc, character's develop as they age and are changed by their experiences.
Shit man Bleach had more character development and story arcs than Ace Attorney. And the character's actually changed clothes.
