The lag downright affects game strategy. Were the game without meaningful lag, players would be slithering in and out of tight spaces, readily claiming the corpses of big snakes. As is, I find myself trying hard to stay away from everyone because if I get hit by lag I'll then suddenly accelerate and hit someone.
