I play the Platinum Demo and Bloodborne. The Witcher 3's new expansion Blood and Wine is gonna come out. That plus Hearts of Stone will most likely be enough to tide me over to the release date.

There are legitimate critiques of this game. Mostly, I think the gameplay looks like Kingdom Hearts.

the framerate isn't good and that weird input lag makes the simplistic combat system feel worse that what it is, if they fixed those the game would feel way better, the problem is that the lack of polishness with the fact that the game has been 10 years in the making are bad signals and wont surprise me if the game ends being a shitty action game.

This is Enix's fault, not Square. Enix is dead weight.
This game will be out on as many platforms as possible, including PC and NX. They will want to get as much money as they can to cover the years of development.
Also, judging by SE's recent track record, chances are it will be underwhelming.

If anything it's shaping up to be a financial blunder, the harbinger of SE's migration to mobile market.
I see no reasons to be optimistic about ff15.
I played the demo, and first time through I didn't think anything special.
I looked around a corner or two, and ultimately finished it in 20 minutes.
Then, I did it a second time, and truly looked in every corner, found a bunch of secrets, and fought the "boss" multiple times. I see promise, I see a very exciting, and new world to explore, and I think with this true next gen gaming experience, Final Fantasy has found it's form again after 15 long years of nothing but shit and terrible spin off titles.
This might just be the first Final Fantasy game I buy at launch since FFX.

As I understand it:
They mocked up a few trailer back in the mid- to late 00s for a game that was meant to come out at the same time as XIII.
The team responsible for it never got beyond the planning stage when it was asked to fix that MMO instead which Square lost a lot of money on.
XIII got two sequels in the meantime. Why they'd do that is anyones guess.
They picked the game back up in, like, 2011 or something and only worked on it sporadically until they changed the director in 2013.
That's when they actually started to get things done.

I'm a little more excited for the improved combat from the platinum demo compared to the original demo. It's got a more kingdom hearts theme (felt like I was playing wonderland again) to it which is never a bad thing.
