SNK has announced in their Twitter that there will be a tournament in Akihabara on the 25th. The version of the game used will have 24 characters available, and will be streamed through their official Twitch channel.

Depends on game. It's trivial in 98UM, easy in CvS2 and I'd assume doable pretty reliable with little training in 2k2UM (where geese is boss anyways, so no need to bother).
Athena's MAX2 in 2k2UM is harder anyways.

Most likely what happened is that all of those characters were planned but they did not have the resources or time to finish them so rather than cram them into teams or waste even more making characters to compensate they just shared the rough draft of their sprites online.

Well, Chang was on Kim's team in 03 without Choi being playable. I think they wanted a lot more teams but just didn't have the resources to do it, so they showed us the characters they had actual sprites for. That would explain why Adelheid has an unfinished render but not a sprite in the game files.
And before anyone says anything, yes I'm aware of the cards they released with the character sprites on them. Those were done way later after development had already finished for the game, and nothing necessarily says that those characters were planned or not.

You can cancel from super to higher tier of super in XIV, so Climaxes will probably be mostly used after supers.
Although, not necessary. From the last demo came simple Robert combo of cl.c, command normal into max activation into cl.c, command normal and climax.
