I got a kick out of it but it was my first Tales in like two years. Playing Xillia 2 now, then Zestiria.
I enjoy it quite a bit. The romance subplot was really dumb but I thought Kor himself was pretty good, especially that scenewhere he stabs himself through the foot to give him traction and rescue femalelead.
Also the plot was way darker than what people said. On screen torture, genocide of a whole planet (that we actually have to see the remains of), and a villain who had good ideals but totally messed up methods...I guess a lot of Tales villains are like that though.
Definitely worth playing, I need to grind some grade and play again soon.

i really dont think the game is that dark honestly even by tales standards, you pretty much save almost everyone put in danger aside from a few notable characters which were some of the better parts of the game, but games like xillia 2 which your playing right now or abyss or even sym0honia are far far darker. Xillia 2 is just pure suffering for every character involved, abyss has easilly the highest kill count in the series with loads of both named npcs and civilians frequently getting slaughtered including even on screen kid deaths, and symphonia has major plotpoints about civilans get kidnapped and experimented on into digusting mutants or
slaughter them and turn them into weapons.

Honestly the plot went to shit by act 2 in Vesperia, by act 3 it was just especially shit. Wasn't the overarching plot in the first half of act 2 that that one Entelexeia said something ominous to Estelle and with that, the Scooby Doo crew was off to investigate?
